Joe and Dianne: Oneshots

Should that have happened? Part 2

Dianne's POV

I felt more and more nervous the closer I got to his house. I got out of the car and took a few deep breaths before ringing the bell for his house. He let me in and I got into the lift up to his. When I got to his door he let me in, us giving a very awkward hello to each other. We made our way into his kitchen me taking a seat on one of the stools. 'Would you like a drink' he said. 'You got any fizzy water' I asked. He went to the fridge and made me a glass making himself a drink as well before passing it to me and taking a seat next to me. We sat in awkward silence for a few minutes neither of us knowing what to say.

Joe's POV

Dianne would be round soon and I was feeling nervous hoping this would go well. She got here and I let her in. She took a seat on one of the stools in my kitchen and I made her and me a drink before taking a seat next to her. We sat in silence for a few minutes before I decided that I needed to break the tension. 'So about last night' I said. She turned to look at me as I spoke. I took a deep breath and decided to just be completely honest with her. 'I don't know if you feel the same' I said. 'But I really like you. I don't regret anything that happened last night I just wish it had happened when we both where sober.' It was quiet for a few minutes and I as worried I had said the wrong thing. Worried that she didn't feel the same and I had just made things awkward between us. 'I do feel the same' she said to me 'I think I'm really falling for you' 'good good' I said. I moved my hands nervously together before I decided to just go for it. 'Do you want to go on a date with me' I asked looking her in the eye. A big small crossed her face as she said yes. I got off the stool moving over to her and wrapping my arms around her, she returning the hug. After a few minutes I pulled away from her and bought my lips to hers placing a passionate kiss on her lips. I was so happy at the moment.

Dianne's POV

I was so happy when Joe decided to speak first. I wanted to know what he had to say before I said anything. When he told me he really liked me I couldn't have been more happier. I decided to be honest with him seen as he had been honest with me. 'I think I'm really falling for you' I said. I looked into his eyes and then down at his hands as I noticed he was fidgeting with his hands. I looked back into his eyes as he looked up at me 'Do you want to go on a date with me' he asked. I could feel a big smile spread across my face as he asked me, I really did want to. 'Yes' I said. He got up and wrapped me in a massive hug me reciprocating it. Once he had pulled back from the hug he brought his lips down to mine and in that moment I felt like I was complete. Like this is where I should me. 'You wanna stay and watch a movie' he asked once he had pulled away from the kiss. 'Sure' I said 'I have no plans this afternoon.' He took my hand and walked me over to sofa. He sat down and I snuggled into his chest as we looked through Netflix trying to decide what to watch. We settled on a film and cuddled up to watch it. Half way through the film I heard a noise coming from the front door and turned my head to see Byron walking through the door. He walked over to us and said 'hey guys you alright.' 'We're good' Joe replies with a big smile on his face. Byron walked into the kitchen and Joe turned to me and said 'you fancy a snack' 'sure' I replied. He got up and made his way to the kitchen and I decided to go upstairs to the toilet.

Joe's POV

Byron walked into the door half way through the film and I saw him smile as he looked down at me and Dianne snuggled up on the sofa. He said hey to us and then made his way into the kitchen. I made up an excuse to follow him and then went into the kitchen myself. I heard Dianne get up and go up the stairs, I assumed she was going to the bathroom. The minute I walked into the kitchen Byron gave me a excited grin. 'So you talked to her man' he said playful punching me on the shoulder. 'Yeah I did' I replied with a massive grin on my face.' 'And' he said. 'I asked her on a date and she said yes' I replied. 'Good on you mate' he said 'you seem to really like her and from what I've seen the feeling is mutual.' 'Thanks man' I replied. I reached up to one of the cupboards and grabbed some popcorns out making my way back to the living room waiting for Dianne to come back down.

Dianne's POV

I grabbed my phone as I went upstairs to the bathroom. The minute I closed the door I rang Amy. 'Hey' she said 'so how did it go.' 'Really well' I replied. 'So tell me what happened' she replied. 'He told me he really liked me and I told him the same and then he asked me out on a date' I said. I heard a squeal down the other end of the phone and I started to laugh. 'Calm down babes' I said. She started to laugh as well. Once we had both calmed down she said to me 'where are you now.' 'I'm in his bathroom at the moment. His roommate just came back and Joe went into the kitchen to speak to him so I decided to come and ring you. I should probably go back down in a minute.' 'Okay have a great day and I'll see you later' she said. 'See you later' I replied. I hung up the phone and then made my way back downstairs. Joe was sitting back on the sofa and I made my way over to him sitting back down and snuggling back into him as we watched the rest of the movie and ate the popcorn, him placing gently kisses on my forehead throughout the film. This moment felt perfect.
