Joe and Dianne: Oneshots

One prank too far part 1

Joe's POV

Today I decided I was going to play a prank on Dianne. I was going to pretend to break up with her and see how she reacted. I had set up the cameras all around the room and I was just waiting for Dianne to get back home. When she came home she came straight into the living room and greeted me with a massive smile and lent down to place a kiss on my lips. I moved my head to the side so she got my cheek. She gave me a funny look and said 'is everything okay.' 'Actually there was something I wanted to talk to you about. Maybe you should sit down for this.' She sat down next to me and I noticed that she had started to fiddle with her fingers. This was something she did when she was nervous so I could tell my plan was working. 'This is so hard to say' I said. 'Just say it' she replied whilst looking down at he hands. 'Okay' I replied 'I think we should break up.' Her head popped up and she looked straight at me 'What, why' she replied. 'I just don't think we are working anymore, we have grown apart.' 'What' she said in shock 'no we haven't I'm head over heels in love with you.'

Dianne's POV

I had just had a brilliant day out with my mates but I couldn't wait to get home and have a snuggle with my Joe. I opened the front door walking into the house placing my stuff down in the hallway. I walked into the living room to see Joe sitting down on the sofa. I said hi to him and lent down to place a kiss on his lips when suddenly he moved his head to the side so I caught his cheek. I gave him a funny look, why did he do that. I couldn't help but think that something was off and when Joe said we needed to talk I just got a really bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I sat down next to him and just stared at my hands as I played with my fingers. The wind got knocked out of my lungs when I heard the words I wasn't expecting coming out of Joe's mouth 'I think we should break up.' My head snapped up so quickly so I was looking at Joe's face. I had no idea what to say and the only words that came out of my mouth where what and why. I could feel my eyes start to water when he told me we had grown apart. I didn't think we had, if anything I thought we where stronger then we every had been, how wrong was I. The tip of the iceberg came when five words left Joe's mouth that I thought I would never hear 'I don't love you anymore.' At that moment something broke inside of me and I burst into tears.

Joe's POV

I have no idea what part of me thought it would be a good idea to say them five words to her but the minute I said it I regretted it. I had taken this prank way to far and I had told the girl who was the one for me that I didn't love her anymore. As I watched her burst into tears I felt my own heart break. How could I do this to her. I decided I had to end this now. I reached across to gather her in my arms but she pushed me away. 'I'm so sorry I didn't mean it, it was a prank.' She looked at me with tears still flooding out of her eyes and said 'you don't have to lie to me I'm a big girl. You don't love me anymore that's fine.' She got up off the sofa and made her way to the front door and in this moment I could feel the panic setting in. She believed me, she was going to leave. 'No seriously Dianne it was a prank I love you so much.' She turned and looked at me one more time before she said 'I don't believe you' and then walked out of the door. My chest constricted and I felt the tears running down my face as I fell to the ground. What had I just done. I had ruined the best thing in my life.

Dianne's POV

As I left Joe's apartment I had no idea what to do. I got into the lift and I felt myself fall to the floor as the tears streamed down my face. How could he do this to me. I thought what we had was real. Once I had calmed down I picked myself up off the lift floor and ordered myself an Uber. I remembered that Zoe was in town at the moment as she had a meeting in the city and even though she was Joe's sister I decided I needed to see her. We had become such great friends since we had first met and I didn't know who else to talk to. I sent Zoe a quick text asking her if we could meet. She told me what hotel she was in and I made my way over there.

Zoe's POV

I had just finished my meeting and was gonna go chill in my room for a while when I got a message from Dianne asking if we could meet. I thought it was a bit strange but I hadn't seen Dianne in a while so I told her what hotel I was in. Ten minutes later I heard a knock on the door and the minute I opened the door I knew something was terribly wrong. Dianne's eyes where red raw and she looked like she was just about holding herself together. The minute she looked up at me tears started flooding down her face and I quickly lept into action and gathered her in my arms. I walked us over to the bed my arms still wrapped around her. I sat us down on the bed and she sort of fell into me as the tears kept coming. I kept her wrapped up in my embrace as I felt her tears soak through my t shirt. I had no idea why she was like this but she was really worrying me. After about ten minutes her tears started to slow down until they where just gently sobs every few seconds. I decided now was the time to find out what was wrong. I pulled away from her and looked at her as I said 'Dianne what's happened.' Though sobs she said 'J Joe he broke up with me.' 'What' I said in shock. 'He told me he didn't love me anymore' and before I could say anything else she had started crying again. I laid us down on the bed so her head was on my chest as I gently stroked her hair. After about five minutes I noticed the crying had stopped and I looked down at her to see she had fallen asleep on my chest. In that moment a million thoughts where running through my head. Why had he done this. I knew for a fact that my brother was head over heels in love with Dianne so why had he broke up with her. I decided I had to get to the bottom of this. I gently wiggled out of Dianne's grasp. I made sure she was okay before I grabbed my phone and walked into the bathroom locking the door behind me.

Joe's POV

Once I had pulled myself together again I decided that I had to go and find her. I had to make her believe that what I said wasn't true. I had to get her back. I opened my door and made my way down I looked around but I couldn't see her anywhere. I had no idea where she would go. I decided I was never going to find her like this. The best thing to do was try calling her and her friends and see if any of them had seen her. I made my way back up to my apartment and grabbed my phone. Just as I was going to try Dianne my phone started ringing and I saw that it was Zoe. I answered the call straight away and the first thing I heard was 'Joe what have you done.'

Zoe's POV

I dialled Joe's number and after a few rings he answered. 'Joe what had you done' was the first thing that left my mouth. There was silence down the other side of the phone. 'Joe you better speak to me' I said getting angry 'what the hell have you done and why have I got your girlfriend fast asleep on my bed after balling her eyes out telling me you have broken up with her.' 'I'm sorry' I heard. 'I don't want to hear sorry I want to know why you did it.' 'It was a prank' he said. I went silent for a few seconds before my anger got the best of me 'What the actually hell Joe, how could you do this to her, she is heart broken. Did you tell her that you don't love her anymore.' When all I heard was silence down the other end of the phone I knew he had said it. I was so disappointed in him 'this was a step to far Joe' i said 'I have no idea what you can do to win her back but Joe you better do something' and with that I hung up.
