Joe's POV

I had finished my performance in the Waitress for the night and was on the way back to my house. I was currently in my Uber and I couldn't wait to get home to see Dianne. The driver pulled up outside and I thanked him before making my way up to my house. I took the lift up and started rooting through my back as I got to the front door. After tipping my bag onto the floor I realised that my door keys where not in my bag. I decided I would have to ring Dianne and get her to come and let me in. I got my phone out of my back pocket and pressed on the front screen and that's when I realised my battery was dead. Great I thought, I really wasn't having a good evening. I knocked on the door hoping that Dianne would hear, but after five minutes I realised that she must be asleep. I didn't want to keep knocking because I knew it was quite late and I didn't want to wake all my neighbours up. I looked around and decided I would have to make the best out of a bad situation. I took my coat of and rolled it into a ball and laid down in the hallway placing the coat under my head.

Dianne's POV

I was laying in bed waiting for Joe to get home from Waitress. I hadn't seen him all day as I had gone out before he woke up this morning and when I got back he had gone out. I looked through my phone trying to keep myself awake as I knew he should be back very soon. As hard as I tried I could feel my eyes closing and I couldn't keep myself awake. I woke up a little while later and looked around. I thought it was weird when I couldn't see Joe so I picked up my phone to see what the time was. When I looked at the time I realise I had been asleep for about an hour and that Joe should definitely be home by now. I got out of bed and decided to go downstairs and see if he was down there. When I couldn't find him I started to worry. I grabbed my phone and tried to ring him but his phone went straight to voicemail. I decided I would go downstairs to concierge and see if they knew anything. I put my shoes on, grabbed one of Joe's jumpers and my keys and made my way to the door. The minute I opened the front door my heart melted. Joe was laying in the hallway outside our house fast asleep. I left the door open and sat on the floor in front of him. I gently bought my hand up to his cheek and stroked it. After a few seconds Joe started to stir and his eyes slowly opened looking into mine. I moved my hand up into his hair and started to play with it. 'Hey little one' I said 'What are you doing asleep out here.' He gave me a gently smile and said 'I forgot my keys and I tried ringing you but my phone was dead. Then I tried knocking on the door but you must have been fast asleep so I decided to sleep here.' I let out a little giggle as he sat up 'why didn't you go to one of your friends then' I asked 'surely it's better then sleeping out here.' He looked down as a slight blush came over his face 'I don't see you enough as it is at the moment. I wanted to be here so at least I could spend some time with you in the morning.' My heart completely melted at this statement ' your so cute' I said. I could see the blush on his face deepen as he looked up at me 'I just love you so much' he replied. 'I love you too' I replied. I stood up and reached my hand down taking his hand in mine 'come on let's go and snuggle in bed' I said. He took my hand and stood up walking hand in hand up to our room. I got straight back into bed as Joe quickly got changed and brushed his teeth. Once he was ready for bed Joe slipped in beside me placing a kiss on my lips before I rolled into his body. Joe placed his arm around me as I placed my head on his chest. 'Night, love you' I said. 'Night, love you too' he replied as we both fell asleep.
