Joe and Dianne: Oneshots

One prank too far part 2

(I'm not sure how I feel about this chapter. I've had people asking me for the second part so I decided to post this but please let me know what you think.)

Joe's POV

I sat down on the sofa thinking long and hard about what Zoe had said. I never meant for the prank to go that far and I definitely never wanted to upset Dianne. I had to think of something that I could do to make it up to her. I had to make her believe that she was the only girl for me and that I would love her for as long as she let me. I decided I needed to do whatever I could to get her back.

Zoe's POV

I had got off the phone to Joe about an hour ago and I was just sitting in my room on my phone whilst Dianne was fast asleep on the bed. I know she was exhausted from all the crying so I decided to leave her to sleep and then when she woke up I was gonna grab room service for the both of us. I was going to let Dianne stay here with me tonight in the hope that Joe would come up with some sort of plan to say sorry to her. I can't believe that he thought that prank had been a good idea. I knew he was clueless about relationships but I never thought he was this stupid. Half an hour later I heard shuffling from the bed and I got up from the chair I was sitting in and went over to Dianne sitting on the edge of the bed. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me 'how are you feeling' I asked. 'Okay' she replied 'a bit better after the nap.' She quickly got up off the bed and picked her bag up off the floor 'I'm sorry for disturbing you. I shouldn't have come here, he is your brother.' She made her way towards the door and I quickly jumped up standing in front of her so she couldn't get out of the room. 'No stay' I replied 'my brother may be a complete idiot but we are still friends.' She looked up at me and gave me a sad little smile before dropping her stuff to the floor and walking back over to the bed.

Dianne's POV

As I woke up I stretched out my limbs before slowly opening my eyes. I had no idea where I was until I saw Zoe sitting on the edge of the bed near me and that's when this afternoon came flooding back to me. I could feel my eyes welling up with tears again but I choked them down refusing to cry again. 'How are you feeling' Zoe asked. 'A bit better after the nap' I replied. That's when I realised who I was with. She was Joe's sister I couldn't lean on her if we had broke up. It wasn't fair on her. I quickly got up off the bed and grabbed my stuff apologising for disturbing her. I went to open the door but before I could she was standing to front of me blocking my way. 'No stay' she said. She managed to convince me to stay and I dropped my bag back on the floor before making my way back over to the bed. She came and sat next to me and we decided to watch a film to take my mind off of what was going on.

Joe's POV

I had come up with a plan to say sorry to Dianne. As it was only mid afternoon I decided to run into town to buy a few bits. I had to make Dianne believe me that it was all a stupid prank that I took to far. I popped into the local jewellers and florist before I rang Zoe to see where they where. Zoe answered her phone on the second ring and I could here her tell Dianne she would be a few minutes and then I heard the sound of the door shutting. 'Where are you guys' I asked. 'Have you worked out what you are going to do' she asked. 'Yes' I replied 'but I need to know where you are.' She told me the hotel she was at and what room she was in and I ordered an Uber there. I really hope this plan works.

Zoe's POV

We where half way through the film when I heard my phone ring. I looked down to see Joe's name flashing across my screen and quickly picked it up before Dianne saw the name. I told her I would be a couple of minutes and then made my way to the bathroom to answer it closing the door behind me. I had a quick chat with Joe telling him where we where and then hung up. I couldn't decide whether it was a good idea to let Dianne know he was on his way. In the end I decided not to tell her because that way she couldn't run away before he got here. Twenty minutes later I heard a knock of the hotel door and I made my way over opening the door. The minute I saw Joe I could tell he had been crying as well. I looked over towards the bed and could see Dianne staring in our direction. 'I'm gonna go out for a little while. Let you two speak for while.' I quickly grabbed my jacket and bag and made my way out of the hotel room. I really hoped for everyone's sakes that the two of them could work this out.

Dianne's POV

Zoe had just left the room and I couldn't help but just sit there and stare at Joe. I had no idea what to say to him or why he was here after what he had said to me earlier. After a couple of seconds he walked towards me and produced the most beautiful bunch of flowers from behind his back handing them to me. He then sat down on the bed making sure to leave a decent amount of space between us. 'First all of all I want to say how extremely sorry I am for what I did earlier. It was a stupid prank that I took way to far and I never should have done it. I never meant anything that I said I don't want to break up with you I want to spend my life with you. I also want you to know that I love you so so much and I will do whatever I can to prove to you just how sorry I am.' I stayed quiet for a few minutes just digesting what he said before I spoke. 'Your right it was a stupid thing to do. I know you are new to relationships but you have no idea how devastating it is to hear someone you love so much telling you that they don't love you anymore. It may have been a prank but in that moment Joe you broke my heart.' I could feel tears welling up in my eyes again, instead of fighting them back I decided to let them fall. I wanted Joe to see how much he had hurt me.

Joe's POV

It hurt me so much seeing Dianne like this and hurt even more to know that I was the one that did it to her. I could feel the tears in my eyes as well as she told me that I had broke her heart. I reached one hand across and gently wiped away her tears shuffling closer to her. 'I promise you I will show you every day how sorry I am and how much I love you. I have something that I want to give to you to prove to you that you mean everything to me.' I reached into my jacket pocket and produced a ring box out and opened it to show her a ring inside. I looked her straight in the eyes as I spoke straight from the heart. 'This is a promise ring that I want to give you. I promise that I will love you for as long as you will let me. I promise to spend everyday trying to make you as happy as you make me. I promise that one day I will marry you and we will have babies together. I promise you that we will grow old together and finally I promise you that I will never make you feel the way I made you feel today.' By the end of my speech I could see that Dianne had even more tears running down her face and I really hoped that this time they where happy tears.

Dianne's POV

I watched as Joe produced a ring from his pocket. It was a beautiful ring but I knew we definitely weren't ready to get engaged yet. When Joe started to speak I couldn't help but start to choke up. Listening to all the things that he promised we where going to share together I couldn't help but fall a little bit more in love with him. By the end of his speech I could feel the tears rolling down my face and I could feel Joe's gently touch as he wiped them away. 'We are perfect together Dianne. You complete me and I complete you so please tell me that I haven't ruined what we have' Joe said. I looked up at him and gave him a teary smile 'you haven't' I said 'but if you every do anything like this again I swear I will be out of here so fast.' 'I will never do anything like this again, I promise. I love you so much' he said. 'I love you too you will never know how much' he replied before he wrapped his arms around my neck bringing me in for a passionate kiss letting his feeling flood through the kiss. After a few seconds we pulled away and he took the ring out of the box slipping it onto my ring finger. I looked down at it and smiled before looking back up at him and wrapping my arms around him. We gently kissed again before he laid down pulling me with him so I was laying with my head on his chest. 'I love you so much Dianne' he said. 'I love you too' I replied.
