Joe's POV
Mine and Dianne's relationship had gone from strength to strength in the ten years we have been together. We are now happily married and have three children. I have never been as happy in life as I have been since I have been with Dianne. The last ten years have been the happiest ten years of my life. We had moved into the countryside when we had our first child and have been living there for the last seven years. Today we where going into London for the weekend as one of our friends was getting married. We had booked a lovely hotel to stay in right around the corner from the venue and I was really looking forward to it. We had packed all the stuff we needed for the weekend and had just ordered a car to drive us to our hotel. We where getting there the day before so we didn't have to rush around getting everyone ready. The wedding wasn't until midday tomorrow so we had plenty of time.
Dianne's POV
We where all settled in at the hotel and had spend the day exploring the area. Me and Joe where going on a date tonight as Caspar had agreed to watch the kids for the night for us. I was really looking forward to it as it was hard for me and Joe to find time to have date nights when we had jobs and kids to look after. We made sure the kids where all fine before we set off for our date. We had a lovely meal at a fancy restaurant before we decided to go for a walk along the river. We where walking hand in hand chatting about random things when I spotted a familiar face walking towards us. I'm not sure whether Joe had seen him but I was sure that Josh was walking in the opposite direction to us coming towards us. I don't think he had noticed us either and I quickly pointed him out to Joe. 'Is that Josh' I asked. Joe followed the direction that I was pointing in to see Josh walking towards us. 'Yes I think it is' Joe replied. As Joe said that Josh head turned towards us and then we where in front of each other.
Josh's POV
I had just finished work for the day and was on my way home when I heard a familiar voice in the crowd. I looked up to see no other then Joe and Dianne. Before I knew it we where standing in front of each other. I had no idea what to say as I hadn't seen either of them in ten years since we had a big argument when I had kissed Dianne. I decided I had to say something as the situation was getting really awkward 'hey how are you guys long time no see' I said. 'Yeah we are good. Still together as you can see' Joe replied. I knew that was a knock on what I had said to him the last time we had spoke. 'I'm happy for you guys' I replied. 'How is life' I asked. 'Good we are married now have been for the last eight years and have three kids how about you' he asked. 'Yeah I'm good, just got engaged' I replied. 'Well it was good seeing you but we have somewhere to be' Joe said. 'Good seeing you too' I replied before we all walked off in opposite direction.
Joe's POV
It was so weird talking to Josh after all the time that had gone. I told him how we where married now and have kids and I couldn't help but think how wrong he was about us. He said we won't last and here we are ten years later as strong as we have ever been. We continued our walk by the river until we got back to the hotel. When we got back I decided to call Caspar to make sure the kids where fine before we went to bed. Once Caspar had reassured me the kids where fine I decided to tell him who I had bumped into. 'You will never guess who we bumped into whilst we where out' I said. 'Who' Caspar asked. 'Josh' I replied. 'Oh wow how was that it must be nearly ten years since any of us have spoken to him' Caspar replied. 'It was strange, a little bit awkward like we didn't know what to say to him. I made sure he knew how wrong he was about me and Dianne though. Told him about us being married and having kids and how happy we are together.' 'Good at least you proved him wrong' Caspar replied. 'Anyway I better go now Dianne is waiting for me. We will be round about eight to grab the kids so we can all get ready' I said. 'Cool see you tomorrow mate' he replied before I hung up. I walked into the bedroom to see Dianne laying on the bed. 'How are the kids' she asked. 'Good Caspar said they have been as good as gold' I said. 'Did you tell him who we saw whilst we where out' she asked. 'Yeah it was so weird seeing him' I said. 'I know do you ever regret losing your friendship with him' Dianne asked. 'No it was the right thing to do he should never have tried to kiss you and said all them things about us' I replied. 'Plus we have plenty of good friends and family around us we don't need his kind of attitude in our lives.' She looked up at me and smiled. 'I'm so happy how our lives turned out' she said. 'Me too I always knew you where the one for me. Now let's enjoy the rest of our child free night' I said. I lent forward and placed a passionate kiss on her lips as we both disappeared under the covers to enjoy the rest of our night.
