it had been a week since the party. a week since jenna got drunk for the first time. a week since memmie stopped talking to josh.

"josh, when you call her she can ignore you. she can't do that as well when you're face to face. stop being a pussy and go talk to her." ashley groaned, rolling her eyes.

the dun family was so tired of seeing their son laying down in the middle of the hallway without saying a word or not seeing him at all.

he couldn't think right in classes not seeing his girl there, he stopped going to the group therapy, and self care wasn't a priority at all.

josh sighed before running a hand through his flopping curls. his hair was greasy and his fingers got caught in between a few of his curls.

"fine." he said. his voice was blank. he sounded like staring at a blank wall. his mothers face saddened.

josh threw on a black hoodie and shimmied into a pair of his black jeans. both articles of clothing were found on his dirty bedroom floor.

memmie would have never let this happen.

he slowly walked to his (who he hoped was still his) girlfriends home. the rain poured down on his head and drops of rain clouded his glasses.

he looked as dead as he felt. he just stared ahead of himself blankly, like he was on autopilot. he felt nothing but his heart ache every once in a while.

twenty five excruciatingly slow minutes passed and he was in front of the mendez household. he stared blankly at the door before knocking.

mrs.mendez opened the door with a saddened look in her eyes. almost every belonging in the small house was boxed up.

"hola, josh. como estas?" she pat the boys back before ushering him into the almost empty house.

"no estoy bien." josh replied.

the older woman could tell. his puffy red eyes complimented with purple bags and his sunken cheekbones gave it all away.

"she left." the woman spoke. she pushed her graying hair away from her face. josh's eyebrows sunk on his face, his eyes stayed the same though. blank.

"oh." that's all he could get out. he didn't notice the tears coming from his eyes. he didn't feel anything. just the sameness he felt since last saturday.

"lo siento." the mother spoke. josh only nodded before saying his goodbye and following out the front door.

she was really gone.
