the varsity basketball game started and everyone got wild and riled up quickly. students from the school showed up as well as parents, siblings, and friends.
jenna kept her eyes on the honeysuckle boy. he looked cute in his jersey and even cuter when he'd shoot jenna bashful looks.
"you're here for joseph?" memmie couldn't help but laugh a little. she watched jenna's cheeks turn pink.
"oh, it's not like that! i don't think tyler likes me anyway." jenna shook her head, her blonde curls moved with her.
memmie giggled, her hand covered her mouth showcasing her maroon colored acrylic nails.
"this is like how j and i used to be. i wanted to hate him so bad." the girls brown eyes lit up as she watched josh run the court.
"i get that. tyler and i just aren't like that." jenna spoke softly while she lost her gaze in the boy with the crooked smile.
just then, tyler fell. not like an embarrassing slip up. no tyler fell and he fell hard.
he'd been tripped by one of the opposing team members in blue jerseys.
his leg collapsed under him first before his chin hit the hardwood floor of the gym. everyone waited for him to get up, he didn't.
"oh my god, tyler!" jenna sprung up from her seat next to her new friend. memmie didn't mind though, this was just gonna be used to disprove the blonde later about how she didn't like tyler.
jenna crouched down to tyler quickly. tears welled in his cocoa eyes but he didn't cry. jenna tried helping him up.
she at least got him in a sitting position. the rest of the team circled around her as she tried consoling their star player.
"jenna, i think it's broken." tyler pointed to his leg, hissing in pain. and oh boy, it looked broken.
"can one of you guys help him to my car?" jenna looked around frantically. selfishly enough, nobody volunteered. nobody but josh, which wasn't surprising.
memmie met the three down at the bottom of the bleachers for extra support. josh smiled at her a little, panic was obvious in his hazel eyes.
josh carried tyler out to jenna's little white car. he placed him in the passenger seat before saying a goodbye and leaving back to the gym with memmie.
"hey, josh. it's okay, tyler's okay. just breathe." memmie said, lacing his what looked like ginormous hand into her small one.
jenna quickly pulled out of the parking lot and sped as fast as she could to the emergency room.
tyler clutched his leg in great pain. he noticed how it went a way it wasn't supposed to, it made him gag a little.
they were there within ten minutes and seated in the waiting room.
