Chapter Four
It Only Gets Harder From Here
---
She swats my hand away. "Why am I even here then?" She gets up and walks down the pavement.
"Melody!" She stopes and turns around. "I can explain!"
"No. You don't. I don't need you to explain anything. Just leave me alone Conrad." I call after her but she ignores me and carries on walking. I chase after her but she slammed the door in my face.
Fuck. This is going to be harder than I thought.

Melody's POV
I open my eyes and light engulfs my room. I groan and close my eyes again.
After I walked away from Conrad I couldn't go back to bed. There was only one thing on my mind. Him.
I don't know what the fuck he's done to me but I can't stop thinking about him. I'm not letting him passed my walls. Nope. Never.
I get up and there was a note lying on my bedside table. I picked it up and started reading:
Lunch is in the kitchen. You father and I are out for the day. Love you. - Mum
I crumple the note in my hand and threw it across the room. It hit the wall and falls in the bin. I smiled at my perfect aiming and ambled over to my bathroom.
I picked up my brush and started brushing my teeth. I splashed some water and soap on my face - wiping it off and applied a thin stroke of eyeliner under my eyelid.
I walked out of the bathroom and to my closet. I scanned my clothes but nothing caught my eye. I sighed and opened my drawers from my bureau instead. I smiled as I picked out a blue dress.
I slipped off my pyjamas and put on the dress. I grabbed my brush and ran it through my hair again.
Once it was tangle free I walked out of my room and into the kitchen. Like the note said my lunch was packed away in a lunchbox and there a another note on top.
You'll have to walk home again today. Sorry darling. Your father and I are on a business trip just for a day or two. - Mum
I picked up my lunch and walked over to my backpack by the door. I slipped in my lunch into one of the pockets.
I slung the bag on my back and open the door. I step outside ignoring the fact I didn't have breakfast. I don't give a shit if it's the most important meal of the day and I missed it.

ONE PERIOD BEFORE LUNCH
I reach my locker and the buzz about the diary was still going about but less and less people were talking about it. The newspapers were still my diary and - again - I picked up every single one and tossed it into the trash. I sighed as I pick up my textbooks from my locker. I closed the locker door and jumped at a face I didn't recognise.
"Shit!" I held my heart to my chest. "You scared me. You can't just stand by someone's locker."
He bite his bottom lip and I couldn't help the fact how adorable he looked when he did that. "Sorry. I'm Kyle. I just arrived today."
I furrowed my eyebrows. Didn't he read the newspaper? I'm the schools joke. Why is he even talking to me? "Melody."
His expression changed to shock and I knew why. "I'm guessing you've seen the newspapers." I say simply to lessen the tension in the air.
