Chapter Twenty Four
Some Things Never Go
I have a question. Would you guys like a recap before every chapter so you know what happened in the previous chapter so you don't have to reread it?

"Why did you lie Mel?"
My voice gets caught in my throat. I don't know what to say. Do I say I don't know? Or the truth? I don't know where I'm looking but it's not at him, I bite my lower lip. "I-I don't k-know."
"Yes you do know Melody. Why would you say I didn't do it?"
"I don't know Conrad! Okay? I don't know." I shout at him. I tense in my muscles. I stand up, and he stands too.
"Sit down Mel, let's just talk." I shake my head still not meeting his gaze.
"Okay I lied. Is that what you wanted to hear? Or is it that your the one who did it?" I pick up my bag and head to the door. At least we got our work done. That's the good thing. I think that there won't be a next time. I don't want a next time. I step down the stairs, I could hear Conrad's footsteps following me outside the door.
"Where are you going?"
"Somewhere." I reach the bottom of the stairs but I'm lost. There's so many doors I try and open one but that's the living room. I try another. Nope, kitchen.
"Are you going home?"
"No." I try another door but it's a bedroom. I yell I frustration. "Where is the door leading to the outside Conrad?"
"Are you going to Kyle's?" Actually I didn't think of that, but that's not where I'm planning to go. I open a door I'm certain leads outside.
"No I'm not." I was close. It leads to the garden. Fuck. It's a big backyard. There's a fountain and a pool, a gym. I'm guessing he's fucked girls in there too. I roll my eyes and step outside.
"Then where are you going?!" I walk the side of the house and I smile.
"Someplace I've been wanting to go for a while now." I walk down the narrow pathway to the front of his house and I see my car. I take out my key from my pocket I slip it in the hole and open the door. I sit inside and grab for the door but Conrad holds it open.
"Don't Mel." He figured it out. I scoff and say what's he gonna do about it. I reach for the door again but he slaps my hand away.
"Fuck you Conrad! Why can't you just let me leave?" But I realise something. "If this is one of your ways to swoon a girl and get in her pants it's not working."
"I'm not trying to get in-" I roll my eyes and reach for the door. He grabs my hand before I can touch the handle. "Just answer me this."
"What Conrad?" He lets go of my hand.
"Why did you lie about the hickey?"
"Because I was ashamed Conrad. Of kissing you whilst I was dating Kyle. Getting a fucking mark on my neck."
"And?"
"I don't belong to you. I'm not in a bloody relationship with you Conrad. If you really want a person To fuck with every once in a while you shouldn't have broken up with Alex."
"It's not like tha-" I stopped trying to grab the door now, now I'm trying to get Conrad to leave me alone.
"Then what Is it like Conrad? Alex dumped you? What difference does that make? Your still a player."
