You just got the news a few hours ago that your dad passed away in a car accident and you weren't sure how to handle it.

Taylor was worried about you, not just because you lost your dad but because you haven't shown much emotion about it. She knows that you don't like showing your emotions a lot or letting people see you upset, but she knew this had to be affecting you and she just wanted you to let her in.

You were brushing your teeth and getting ready for bed, the sun set and the moon now out. She watched you from the doorway, hoping if she stayed quiet and kept her distance she'd get you to finally let out your emotions, but nothing.

She walked over to you and placed a hand on your back, rubbing it through your shirt.

"You doing okay?"

You rinsed out your mouth and looked up at her, putting on your best fake smile and nodding your head.

"Yea,h I'm fine."

She sighed as you turned around to go to the bedroom, catching your wrist in her hand. "Y/N, come on. I know you're hurting."

You shook your head and pulled away from her, walking into the bedroom and climbing into bed, ready for a good night's rest.

Truth be told though, you didn't sleep.

You pretended to be asleep when you could tell Taylor was awake but when you knew she was asleep you laid there wide awake.

Your mind raced and your heart ached. It hurt. But you didn't want Taylor to know. You didn't want her to worry about you.

She had things to do and people that looked up to her that needed her and you didn't want to distract her or get in her way, and if that meant hiding your emotions from her, you'd do it as long as you needed to.

You ended up falling asleep for about an hour. When you woke up the sun was out and Taylor was no longer in bed with you. You sat up in bed, your feet over the edge as you stretched before you got out of bed and brushed your teeth.

When you finished you went downstairs to the kitchen to find Taylor sitting at the counter eating some breakfast.

She smiled at you and stood up. She walked over to you and pulled you into her arms, hugging you close and pressing a few kisses to your head.

"Good morning, baby."

You mumbled a response and grabbed some water, wanting to go back upstairs and crawl into bed. It was starting to hit you and all you wanted was to be alone.

"Hey." Taylor caught your wrist again, this time her grip a little tighter so you wouldn't pull away from her. "You okay?"

You simply nodded your head, not trusting your voice enough to speak.

"Y/N. Let's talk about this."

You tried pulling away from her but failed. She wrapped her arms around your waist and led you to the table, sitting down on the floor in front of you as you looked down at your bare feet.

"Baby, c'mon, talk to me. I know you're hurting. Please let me in. I just want to help you."

You continued to sit in silence and Taylor simply sighed.

"Baby, I know you were close to him. I know he was like your best friend. This has to be hurting you and I just want you to open up to me."

You felt your chest tightening, the lump in your throat that you kept trying to swallow was only getting stronger, and your vision was beginning to blur because your eyes were filling with tears.

It was then that it hit you.

Your dad was gone.

Your ultimate best friend. your biggest supporter was gone.

What were you gonna do without him?

How was this affecting your mom?

Was she doing okay?

The guy that you did everything with and told everything to was gone and there was nothing you could do to bring him back.

You sobbed, the first of many tears falling from your eyes while your heart ached in your chest. It was as if a part of you died too. Like you wouldn't ever find that part of you again, because it went with him.

"There we go. Let it out baby, let it all out. I'm right here." Taylor grabbed your hips and pulled you down on her lap, rocking your body back and forth as you sobbed.

"It hurts, Tay."

Her vision started to blur as well as a tear fell from her eye. It broke her heart knowing that you were in so much pain and there wasn't much she could do to help you except be there for you and hold you in her arms while you cried.

"I know. I'm sorry, baby, I'm so sorry."

Every sob that left your lips made her heart ache more and more.

"I miss him so much. I never even got to say goodbye to him or tell him that I love him."

Taylor sniffled, biting her lip to keep herself from completely falling apart with you.

She kissed your head and then your neck, wanting to ease your pain in any way that she could because fuck, your dad didn't deserve to die like that and you deserved to say goodbye to him.

She wanted that so badly for you.

"I know you didn't, baby. But I promise you that he knew. He knew you loved him. He knew that, darling, I swear to you that he knew. And he loves you just as much, if not more. I know he's watching you from up there right now."

You looked up at her with tears in your eyes and streaming down your cheeks. "You think so?"

She nodded her head and leaned forward to kiss your temple. "Absolutely, my love. There isn't a doubt in my mind."

You sniffled and Taylor wiped your wet cheeks, wiping away your tears only for more to fall. "He was like my best friend."

"I know, and I know you were his, too."

You sobbed again and dropped your head onto Taylor's chest.

"I don't wanna ever lose him."

Taylor lifted your chin and looked you in the eyes, her other hand going to your chest, right over your heart.

"You will never lose him, baby. He's always gonna be right here with you and he loves you right back."

You collapsed onto Taylor, sobbing as Taylor held you close to her.

She wasn't ever gonna let go of you. She'd hold you while you cry for as long as you needed her to. She wasn't letting go.
