Godt's POV

I glanced at my watch as I stepped out of my cabin. It was 5:55 in the late afternoon. In five minutes the dining hall doors were going to open for the cruise passengers.

I pressed the elevator service button when I reached the foyer.

When I got to the dining hall, the doors were still closed.

I saw the menu written on a white board stand just outside the dining hall doors.

CATCH OF THE DAY: herbed grilled salmon

I am a seafood lover. Grilled salmon is one of my all time favorite seafood dish so tonight's dinner was perfect for me.

At six on the dot, the dining hall doors opened. I was the first to walk in.

For appetizers I had a choice of mixed greens with a choice of Italian dressing or ranch dressing, or a mini bowl of lentil soup. I chose the mini bowl of lentil soup.

I paired the herbed grilled salmon with a cup of white jasmine rice.

I was tempted to take a long stemmed glass of white chardonnay but I rejected it for a tall glass of ice cold pomegranate juice. I wasn't much of an alcohol drinker anyway,

A few more cruise passengers trickled in as I settled at my table close to the entrance. I liked sitting by the entrance because I liked watching the people as they came in.

By the time I was halfway through my dinner, the dining hall was more than half full. Pretty soon all the tables would be occupied and the latecomers would have to fall in line to wait until a table was available for them.

I had skipped the very tempting calorie laden Rocky Road ice cream for dessert. I chose not to have any dessert at all. I had to watch my middle which I felt was getting a little rounder than I wanted it to be.

I tipped the waiter who had come to clear my table before I stepped out of the dining hall.

I decided to digest my dinner by walking out into the open deck for a stroll.

The deck was empty except for a couple who were making out in the dimly lit far corner of the open deck.

At first I thought it was a man and a woman because one of them had shoulder length straight hair, but when they stopped to look at me as I walked further into the deck, I noticed that the long haired one was also a man.

I ignored their stares as I walked straight toward the railing. I leaned against it, looking out into the sea. I felt the sea breeze blowing softly against my cheeks and against my hair, making some strands move slightly.

I stood there for a while, listening to the waves as they lapped against the side of the ship.

After a while, I got bored and decided to go to the cinemas to see if there were any movies worth watching.

I went back to the foyer and pressed the elevator service button. The cinemas were two floors higher from where I was.
