Bas' POV

I was successful in hiding my disappointment about not being able to join Kimmon and the other guy for drinks at the bar.

I was able to give him a bright smile before turning and walking away, but the moment I was by myself I felt a mix of sadness and disappointment and frustration.

I walked down the corridor leading to my cabin with my head down.

I did not notice the same tall guy who had greeted us earlier until I was right in front of him.

"Hey, are you alright?" he asked me.

I was too upset to talk so I just shook my head.

"You wanna talk about it?" he asked.

Okay, he was being nosy now, but then the frustration of not being able to drink just because of my age hit me again.

"I'm freaking underage!" I complained to him, trying quickly to think of a way to vent my frustration on him.

"I'm sorry to hear that," I heard him mutter under his breath before turning away from me.

Suddenly I had an idea.

I grabbed his arm before he could walk farther away from me.

"Can you keep me company for a few hours tonight?" I pleaded with him.

He looked at my face for a few seconds, and then removed my hand from his arm.

"Sorry, I can't," he sounded sincerely regretful.

I wanted to say " Fuck you" to him, but I held my tongue.

I was turning my key into the hole of my cabin door when, on impulse, I decided to spend a few hours in the open deck.

I was still too wide awake to go to bed.

I stopped by the vending machine that was standing by the corner of the foyer and dropped several coins for a can of soda.

After I retrieved the soda from the bottom of the vending machine, I walked towards the open deck, ready to yell at the top of my lungs to vent my frustration once I got there.

Shit, I wasn't going to be alone. There was someone leaning against the railing, looking out into the ocean.
