Off's POV

I walked quickly out of the dining hall with the intention of going to the open deck to gather my thoughts.

The door leading to the open deck was just a few feet away from the dining hall door. If someone were to stand against the railing of the open deck with his back to the ocean, one could see through the large glass windows any person who was making his way to the dining hall.

For some reason, I was in no mood to stare out into the ocean, so I stood with my back against the railing, facing the glass windows.

I stood lazily with the back of one foot resting against the first rung of the railing as I watched several people making their way to the dining hall.

My heart jumped when I saw Pak slowly making his way to the dining hall. His head was bent because he was looking at the phone that he was holding with one hand.

Shit, I just remembered that Gun was still inside the dining hall. For sure, if Pak saw him he would go and join him at his table.

I continued to stand against the railing, undecided as to what to do next.

I waited a few minutes before slowly making my way out of the open deck.

I walked inside the dining hall and stopped by the beverage counter to pour myself a tall glass of iced fresh pressed apple juice.

I turned my head in the direction of Gun's table. Sure enough, Pak was seated on the chair beside Gun instead of facing him.

I quietly walked sideways along the row of tables behind Gun's table. His back was to me while Pak was facing sideways to me.

I kept my head turned to one side as I took the table right behind them.

"Can't you give me another chance so we can start over?" I heard Pak pleading with a quivering voice to Gun.

I waited to hear Gun's response but heard nothing from him. He seemed to be concentrating on his food and didn't seem to hear what Pak had just said, or was he just ignoring Pak.

I continued to keep my head averted so that Pak would not recognize me if he happened to look in my direction.

"Gun," I heard Pak saying, "please say something."

Suddenly Gun spoke up, his voice sounding bitter, "Do you really expect me to forget and overlook the fact that at the time that we were boyfriends, you were still committed to another guy?"
