Perth's POV

I stood in the cinema lobby reading the synopsis of one of the movies that I thought might be worth watching.

As I was doing so, suddenly, the ship made some kind of weird movement that made me run to the ticket booth to hold on for balance.

Then I heard the distant rumbling of thunder and suddenly I saw people coming from the open deck, rushing into the lobby.

I could see the sudden downpour through the giant glass windows where one could see the open deck.

One of the last persons to come running in was a young man, a little taller than I was and maybe about two or three years older than me.

I could see he was already soaking wet.

I wondered why he waited till the last minute to come in, unless he was something of a slowpoke and could not rush in with the others who were faster in movement.

He was rubbing his wet arms but he was smiling and when he happened to look my way, since he was still smiling, I smiled back at him.

He approached me to say, "That was so sudden. No one expected such a quick downpour without any warning."

"It was so sudden alright," I agreed.

Then I remembered that I had a large pocket handkerchief and decided to fish it out.

"Take this," I offered him, "it's not as big as a towel but every little bit helps to dry you out a little."

"Why did you wait so long and got soaked before coming inside?" I asked.

"I wasn't fast enough like the others," he explained with a shy smile, "before I knew it everyone else was already rushing inside and I had to wait till those ahead of me got in."

"Dry yourself with this," I offered my handkerchief again.

"No, it's okay," he declined, "I'm going up to my cabin anyway to dry myself."

"Don't wait until then," I scolded him firmly, "you are going to catch your death of cold."

Why did I feel the need to take care of him? I asked myself. Was it because he looked so vulnerable and needing to be taken care of?

When he still did not take the handkerchief that I offered, I took it upon myself to start drying his hair with the handkerchief and to wipe off his wet arms with whatever dry surfaces were left of my handkerchief.

All the while that I was doing so, I did not notice that he was staring at me with a shy smile.

Finally he spoke up, "You're lucky you were not in the open deck when the strong rains came."

"Yes," I agreed, "I was just here reading the synopsis of this movie when it happened."

"Where you thinking of watching that movie?" he asked.

"Well, before the rain came down, I was trying to decide whether to go out into the open deck and enjoy the sea breeze or whether this movie was worth watching," I replied.

"I guess the rain has made up your mind for you," he said with a smile.

"I guess so," I said. Then on impulse, "would you like to watch the movie with me?"

"I would like to but I need to change into dry clothes first," he said.

"Of course," I agreed, "go ahead. I will wait for you here. You will have enough time to do so. The movie doesn't start until the next twenty minutes."

When the next elevator door opened, he went inside it.

"I'll be back in a little bit," he said just before the elevator doors closed.

It was only after the elevator doors had closed that I realized we had not introduced ourselves to each other. I had no idea what his name was and I had not told him mine either.

Saint's POV

My heart was beating fast as I let myself into my cabin.

I had been looking forward to a boring lonely time on this cruise ship, but suddenly I had met not only a very kind young stranger, but a very good looking one as well.

I had cursed the rain at first for coming down on me like that, but now I was thankful that because of the rain, I got to meet him.

Oh shit, wait, I had forgotten to ask him what his name was.

What if he had changed his mind by the time I went back to the cinema lobby.

I hurriedly took out a pair of dark blue denims from my suitcase and a light blue shirt to match it.

I went inside the bathroom and grabbed a towel and dried myself as quickly as I could before I changed into my dry clothes.

Thankfully, when I reached the cinema lobby, he was still there.

He gave me a warm smile when I walked out of the elevator.

"You got back really fast," he said, "I was prepared to wait the full twenty minutes, but you came back in less than ten minutes."

"I tried to do everything quickly," I confessed, "I was afraid that you might change your mind if I did not come back quickly enough."

"Why would I do such a thing?" he asked in surprise.

I shrugged, "I don't know if you're a patient person who's willing to wait a long time."

"By the way my name is Perth," he said, holding out his hand to me.

I took it saying, "And mine is Saint."

"Nice to meet you," he said, "let's go get our tickets so we can choose good seats inside the cinema."

We went ahead to purchase our tickets from the ticket window. He paid for his ticket and I paid for mine.

He asked if I wanted some popcorn and drinks.

I told him that I had a heavy lunch not too long ago and was not yet hungry.

He said that the same was true for him so we went ahead inside the cinema.

"My eyes have a hard time adjusting to the dark," I said, hesitating at the entrance.

"Don't worry, I'll guide you," he said, taking my hand.

Why was I feeling some tingling at the tips of my fingers when he held my hand?

My heart was beating very fast again.
