Chimmon's POV

Breakfast was a silent affair.

After we had made our rounds of introduction to each other, we all concentrated on our food. I guess we were all hungry, me in particular.

After taking a sip of his coffee, I noticed Pluem wincing.

"I guess you were right," he said, turning to me, "I had placed too much sugar into my coffee."

I just shrugged. What did he want me to say.

"What did you have for a beverage?" he asked me.

Whoa, he was in a talkative mood.

"Lemonade," I replied, belatedly remembering that I had not yet taken a sip from it.

I noticed him watching me as I lifted the glass of lemonade to my mouth.

"What?" I asked after setting the glass back down on the table.

He smiled, "It's fascinating to watch your Adam's apple going up and down as you swallow your drink."

I shrugged again. What did he want me to say to that.

We all parted ways after breakfast.

I decided to digest my breakfast by breathing in the fresh sea air in the open deck.

Whoa, there were already two people there sitting on a bench by the wall. They were in each other's arms, tearfully listening to some music. Each one had an earpiece in his ear.

"I'm sorry," I said, quickly moving away towards the railing, "I didn't mean to interrupt."

The taller guy took his earpiece off.

"No," he said, "you didn't interrupt. Feel free to stay."

I noticed that he was very, very, very good looking.

He had unblemished facial skin, he had a very well shaped mouth, he had a perfect set of pearly whites, and his eyes...... I instantly fell for this guy, forgetting that the shorter guy seated beside him might be his boyfriend.

I held out my hand to him and he took it, and I felt some kind of electricity running through my veins at his touch.

"Hi," I said, "my name is Chimmon."

"And mine is Mean," he replied with a smile, although I could tell there was some kind of sadness and loneliness behind the smile.

The shorter guy held out his hand to me and I took it.

"And I am Plan," he said, also with a smile. He had a sad smile as well. What was going on between these two.

"Hi, Plan," I said, "nice to meet you. My name is Chimmon."

I noticed Plan looking appreciatively at me. I noticed him sizing me up and down.

Please, no, Plan, I said silently to myself, please don't get attracted to me, because I am attracted to the guy sitting beside you.

Plan's POV

Was this the guy that I was hoping to meet on this cruise to start a lovely and exciting relationship? I asked myself as Chimmon shook my hand. And hopefully, a forever and ever relationship?

I noticed how very handsome he was.

He had the ideal height for me.

Already I was imagining myself in his arms.

"Would you like to stay and join us?" I offered, moving to make space for him on the bench.

"If Mean won't mind, I would love to," he replied, looking at Mean and waiting for his reaction.

Chimmon's POV

"Three is a crowd," Mean said, and then immediately followed with, "I was just kidding. Go ahead and join us."

For a minute there I thought I would have to leave the two of them. Thank goodness he was just kidding.

As I sat down on the space that Plan made for me, Plan turned to me and asked, "What is your favorite song?"

"I have many favorite songs," I answered, "but there is one in particular that I like. It's all about thinking of someone while he is far away from his loved one."

"What's the title?" Mean got interested.

"It's called 'Dekat Di Hati', " I replied.

Both Mean and Plan raised their eyebrows to indicate that they did not know what I just said so I had to explain.

"It's an Indonesian song whose title means "close to my heart"," I explained, "I came across it while I was watching a video and it was the background music to that video. I liked the melody so I searched it on the description of the video. When I found the title of the song, I searched for it and the English translation."

"Let's play it," Plan suggested to Mean.

"But I only have two earpieces, for you and me," Mean said.

"Don't worry," I said, "I brought mine. We can play it simultaneously. I will play it on my phone and you can play it on yours."

I noticed Plan taking out his phone from his pocket.

"And I will get the English translation on my phone so that we can all understand the lyrics as the song is playing," he said.

"Great idea," I said, holding up my palm to him for a high five.

After Mean and I found the song, and after Plan had the translation ready, Mean said to me, "On three, we will tap on the start button simultaneously, okay?"

"Yes," I replied.

"Three, two, one..."

Mean and I brought our heads close to Plan to read the English translation of the song as we all listened to it.

In the morning, the ringtone of my phone makes me smile

You tell stories all night with me in my dreams

Somehow I feel your presence here

Laughing at your jokes alone entertains me

I am here and you are there

Only meeting through calls

Yet I always wait until we will meet

Although right now you are far away

We see the same sky

Far from view but close to my heart

The song was only halfway through when Mean suddenly removed his earpiece and stood up and started walking away.

I quickly stood up as well and went after him.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked.

He turned to me and held me tight, sobbing softly in my arms.

The scent of his cologne reached my nose. I felt like I was floating on the clouds.
