Copter's POV

I hate to admit it, but I was the cause of the pandemonium that occurred by the poolside and in the pool itself.

I'm not entirely to blame though.

I wasn't even the one who started it. It was that guy who had introduced himself as Kimmon to me who caused the whole trouble.

Before the whole incident, Max and I had agreed to have lunch, and then decided to take a dip in the pool.

We were not expecting those two guys whom we had caught in the act of kissing in the pool the day before, to be there again. They must have been ducks or fish in their previous life. They seem to be always in the water together.

It was Kimmon who approached us first and introduced himself.

Things started friendly enough at first until he started to come on too strongly to me and Max didn't like it. I didn't like it either, or did I?

Anyway, Max had approached us to say, "Hey, lay off him! You can see that he's starting to get uncomfortable with all your comments."

"What is it to you, huh?" Kimmon had asked Max in an annoyed tone.

I can't recall now who pushed whom first, but that was how the whole brouhaha started.

The whole thing became a free for all when some already drunken passengers who were just there for the fun, joined in, just hitting and pushing people willy nilly.

I got worried when one slim young man had gotten pushed too roughly against the side of the pool and I saw his elbow bleeding.

When he stepped out of the pool, that's when we heard the ship's security officer blowing loudly on his whistle several times.

When things died down, Max said to me, "We better leave."

I started to follow him out of the pool when I felt Kimmon touch my upper arm lightly.

"I'm sorry for my bad behavior," he said.

"It's forgotten," I replied.

"Hey, I really want to be your friend," he said, "can I invite you for drinks at the bar after dinner tonight?"

I noticed that Max was waiting impatiently for me near the exit of the deck.

"I promise to behave," he said, when he saw the indecision on my face.

"Very well," I said. Something in me wanted to get to know him more, this Kimmon with the twinkling, mesmerizing eyes.

"Will nine be too early for you?" he asked.

"No, it's just fine," I replied. My heart was already beating fast with excitement and anticipation.

Shit, I noticed that Max had already folded his arms across his chest in a stance of annoyance.

"See you later," I whispered to Kimmon before climbing quickly out of the pool to join Max.

In my hurry to reach Max I almost bumped into the nurse who was carrying an emergency kit. He was probably going to tend to the wounded elbow of the passenger who was sitting, waiting for him on a bench by the railing.

I noticed the security officer standing close beside the wounded passenger, watching him closely as if the passenger was going to escape. Shit, he wasn't even the one who had started the trouble. He was just an innocent bystander who got caught in the line of fire.

When I reached Max, he asked me angrily, "What did that bastard say to you before you left the pool?"

"Oh, he just wanted to apologize for his bad behavior," I said.

"I wouldn't trust him," said Max, "I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole."

I laughed.

"He doesn't seem to be as bad as he seems," I said, to pacify Max.

"You seem to be falling under his spell." Max said as we entered the elevator that would take us back to our cabins where we planned to shower off the chlorine water of the pool and to change into dry clothes.

I laughed again.

"Not true," I tried to assure him.

Suddenly he pushed me against the side of the elevator and started to kiss me.

I was totally taken by surprise.

I pushed him away angrily.

"What are you doing?" I demanded.

"I thought there was something going on between us," he stated in a hurt tone.

"Max," I said, "we have only known each other for a very short time. Why don't we stay as friends until we have sorted out our true feelings."

"I'm just worried that that Kimmon guy is going to snatch you from me," he was still using a hurt tone, "he seems to be going aggressively after you."

Suddenly I was scared to tell Max that I had agreed to have drinks with Kimmon at the bar. I had to think of an excuse in case Max asked me to spend time with him after dinner.

Luckily for me, after dinner Max told me that he was turning in early. He said that he had promised his cousin White, the sous chef, that he would be up early for breakfast to taste another first fruit of his labor for the day.

I asked Max what the new breakfast item was that his cousin White would be making.

Max said something like banana nut muffins.

"Did you want to join me for breakfast tomorrow?" Max asked.

Banana nut muffins sounded good to me.

"Yes of course," I replied.

After I said good night to Max, I headed for the bar.

When I got there, Kimmon was already there chatting with another guy who was seated beside him. Shit, was it going to be a threesome night?
