Third Person POV

Throughout their swim, Mike kept to himself. Joss had tried his best to engage him in conversation but to no avail.

Joss started to feel miserable.

He observed Mike's body, especially his upper body. Mike was right. His muscles needed toning. Joss wanted to help Mike tone his muscles later at the gym.

Joss heard a muffled sound and turned his face in the direction that it came from.

Tay was kissing Newwie. Right there in the pool. How bold of Tay, Joss thought.

When Joss turned around, Mike was gone from the pool.

He saw Mike already on his way out the door leading to the foyer.

"Mike! Wait for me!" Joss called out, climbing quickly out of the pool.

"Don't you want to continue watching those two lovebirds making out in the pool to see where it will all lead to?" Mike had asked coldly, not breaking his stride.

Shit, Joss thought, Mike had caught him staring at Tay and New smooching in the pool and had mistakenly concluded that he was still after Tay.

"You're wrong in what you're thinking!" Joss tried to say but when he got into the foyer, Mike was nowhere to be found.

Mike had not waited for elevator service but instead had gone to use the stairs leading to his cabin.

Joss decided to go back to his own cabin to change into gym clothes, hoping to find Mike at the gym since Mike had mentioned that he was planning to go there after his swim.

Mike knew that Joss would head over to the gym and therefore decided to forego his plan to workout at the gym. He could always go another day.

After changing into dry clothes, Mike decided to do some window shopping at the gift shop to see what he could buy as souvenirs for his parents and younger sister.

He went through every single choice but even if there were two or three items that caught his fancy, he felt that they were overpriced.

Mike was a cautious shopper and decided that it was better to wait till he disembarked to go to a local shop for better prices.

By the time that he had finished his window shopping, he realized that it was dinner time.

He made his way to the dining hall, hoping not to bump into Joss there.

The white board menu outside the dining hall said "Beef Short Ribs with Chutney".

That sounded good to Mike and he quickly walked in and went straight for the stack of dinner trays, took one and then walked over to the counter where the sous chef was handing out the main course to the passengers.

Mike was not an alcohol drinker. He skipped the glasses of wine at the beverage counter and poured himself a tall glass of fresh pressed apple juice instead. He scooped some ice from the metal ice cubes container and dropped them into his drink. Then he looked around for an empty table.

He found one at the far corner of the dining hall.

He looked around after he settled himself at his table. Thankfully Joss was not anywhere in the dining hall.

Mike hoped that he would be able to finish his dinner before Joss walked in.

The dining hall was filling fast with hungry diners by the time that Mike was halfway through his dinner.
