chapter eighty-four; real life

"Reece!"

"What?"

I walk into the living room, throwing my dress at him.

"Look what you did!"

He picks up the dress, staring at it in confusion.

"Uhh, sorry?"

"Reece!"

"What?"

I stare at him. "It's pink!"

"And? Wasn't it always pink?"

"No! It was white!"

"Can't you wear it like that?"

"No! This is what Olivia gave me for the rehearsal dinner!"

His eyes widen and he jumps off the couch. "What about bleach?"

"Do you not see the flowers on it? I can't just bleach those!"

"Crap. I'm calling Blake."

"Why?"

"So he can tell me where Olivia bought it and I can run out and buy a new one?"

"But the dinner is in less than an hour."

"I know that!"

He picks up his phone, rubbing his forehead.

"For fuck's sake. What have I done?"

"Reece it's not your-"

"Fuck?"

I turn around, staring at Hunter.

"What did you just say?"

"Fuck!"

"No! That's a bad word."

He giggles, continuing to say the word.

"Hunter, that's a bad word."

"A very bad word." Reece says, still holding his phone up to his ear.

"You say it." Hunter says, staring up at the two of us.

Crap, what did we get ourselves into?

"It's a word for- hello? Blake? Yea, we kinda have a problem."

I look over at Reece, who's deep into his conversation with Blake over the dress. I'm sure Olivia wouldn't have minded, but I'm pretty sure the dress was expensive. I don't want to do anything to ruin this for her and Blake.

"Okay, Leanna is going to stay here with Hunter and Kaitlynn, and I'm going to run and get a new one. We might be a little late, if that's okay?"

He nods before continuing, so I look back over at Hunter. He had started playing with his toys, completely unaware of how Reece was flipping out because he ruined the dress.

"Okay, I'll be back in a little bit."

He rushes towards the door, opening it up quickly.

"Reece?"

"Yea?"

I hold up my hand, giggling a little bit. "It's kinda hard to leave when you don't have the keys."

He smiles, shaking his head as he walks over to me. "Yea, I might need those."

"Don't drive stupidly, okay? I know you want to be back as soon as you can, but it's not worth sliding off the road or anything because it's pouring outside."
