chapter eleven; real life

"Today's the big day!"

I run into her room with a smile on my face.

"What the hell?"

"Mia, get up!"

"Why?"

"Because today is the day of our trip!"

"What trip?"

"I've been telling you about this for a few days now! Did you seriously forget?"

"The trip to Manchester?"

"Yes! Now come on!"

She grabs her phone.

"It's 7 in the morning Leanna! Why so early?"

"So we can get there earlier!"

"I'm not leaving my bed until at least noon."

"But Mia!"

"No! I couldn't sleep last night!"

"I'll buy you your favorite breakfast sandwich from that small cafe down the street that you like so much?"

She sits up. "Really?"

"Yea, really! You have to get up first!"

"I've been craving one of those all week!"

"Then what are you waiting for? Get up!"

She gets out of bed and hurries off to the bathroom, making me laugh at her.

"Don't laugh at me! I'm excited now!"

She finishes getting ready in a few minutes, only throwing on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt.

"What do I need to pack?"

"Everything?"

"What do you mean 'everything'? We'll be there for three days!"

"But you don't know what we're going to do there!"

"And you do?"

"No, but that's not the point."

"Then what is the point?"

"Just roll with it?"

She rolls her eyes.

"See?"

"I rolled my eyes. That does not count as 'rolling with it' at all."

"You never know."

"You sound like that old Tootsie Pop commercial."

"What?"

"You know, the one with the owl where the quote at the end is 'the world may never know'. That one?"

"Oh yea! I haven't seen one of those since I was like 8."

"I know. Neither have I."

"Okay, enough chit chat. We need to go soon."

"It's like we have a flight or something to catch."

"Haha very funny. I'll be waiting for you in the living room."

She nods as I walk out the door, a smile on my face.

I head towards the living room and pick up my bags off the floor, doing one last inventory before we leave. By the time I had finished, about twenty minutes had passed and Mia was nowhere to be found.

"Come on Mia!"

"I'm almost done!"

"Are you really though?"

"Yes!"

I walk back into her room to see that it was now cluttered with clothes.

"What happened in here?"

"I don't know what to pack!"

"Which is why I told you to last night but you never did."

"I still don't understand why you made me pack an entire suitcase for a trip to Manchester. We're going for three days! What's the big deal?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Leah-"

"Mia, just go with it."

"Don't tell a pregnant woman to just go with it. There are about a million things wrong with that sentence."

I chuckle.

"So are you going to tell me what it is?"

"Fine."

I finally finish explaining a few minutes later, my emotions going all over the place. I was full of excitement and happiness.

In about fifteen hours I will finally get to see Reece. I had been planning this for about a week now with Olivia, and she was excited as well. We had originally planned for me to go earlier this week, but since I was sick and could barely get out of bed without wanting to throw up, I definitely could not get on a flight. That would be bad.

About one hundred people trapped in a small area with someone who has the flu?

Yea, that definitely wouldn't go very well with the passengers as well as the staff.

The only thing about me planning this with Olivia was that she didn't know I decided to bring Mia along. It was a last minute thing. I hadn't originally thought of it, which makes me feel bad. She would have been upset if I went without her, considering I would be in the same city at all times with her best friend.

That wouldn't go over very well with how her hormones are. They're all over the place right now.

The other day I caught her crying over a car commercial that showed a family.

It wasn't sad at all.

"So we're really going to LA?" She asks, the smile on her face still growing every slightly.

"Yep!"

"Awesome!"

"Olivia doesn't know you're coming too, so don't put anything about it on Snapchat."

"I won't."

"Good. Now can we go before we miss our flight?"

"Definitely."

"Okay. Let's go."

haha she's still continuing the drama and I'm done with it.
