chapter sixty-six; real life

August 8th, 2022

"Leah, you've got to tell them at some point." Emily says as she pulls my hair back.

"I know."

"Olivia has already asked Reece about it."

"She has?"

"Yea. It was when you ran out of the line for breakfast. She asked if you were sick or if you were pregnant again. When he asked why she thought that you were pregnant again it was because she saw you get up multiple times on the plane and come back with one hand on your stomach and the other in front of your mouth like you were about to throw up again."

I sigh. "I just don't understand why I'm so sick this time. I barely had any morning sickness with Hunter."

"Maybe this means it's a girl?"

"Well I won't know until I get back. I have an appointment the day before Reece's birthday, and that's when we were planning on telling everyone."

"I know, but you might as well tell them now and just turn that into a gender reveal party."

"Yea."

"Besides, you're seriously starting to show. I don't know how much longer you'll be able to use Reece's jumpers."

"I know, I know." I sit up, flushing the toilet. "I'll run it by Reece and we can tell them."

I stand up, walking towards the mirror and looking at my stomach. She wasn't wrong when she said that I had really started to show. Before, it was just a small bump that you couldn't really see, now I actually look as far along as I am.

"Leanna? How are you feeling?" Reece asks as he walks into the hotel room.

"Pregnant."

He chuckles, walking into the bathroom and wrapping his arms around me. I bury my head into the crook of his neck, smiling.

"You want to tell them, don't you?"

"Maybe."

He lifts my head up, pressing a small kiss to my forehead.

"We can tell them. I would be happy to."

"You wanted to wait until your birthday."

"That's going to be hard to if she keeps growing."

"She? How do you know it's a girl?"

"I have a feeling."

"Do you now?"

"I do too!" Emily says, making us look over at her and laugh.

"What? You tend to have more morning sickness with a girl."

"How do you know that?"

"I just do." She says with a shrug.

"Oh?"

"I had a friend back in LA. She had the worst morning sickness when she was pregnant with her daughter, and almost none three years later when she had a boy."

I nod.

"So should we go ahead and tell them?" Reece asks.

"Why the hell not?"

Reece breaks away, running towards the door.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm bringing everyone up here. I figured it would be better here and not in the breakfast line."

"Go get them."

Reece hurries off, coming back ten minutes later with the others behind him.

"What was so important you had to interrupt my meal?" George asks, sitting down on the bed and continuing to eat.

"Guys, we have news." Reece says, placing his hand on my stomach.

"Leah's pregnant?" Olivia asks.

"I'm- oh, yeah. Olivia said it for me." I smile.

"Wait, what?" Blake sits up, smiling.

George's jaw drops, the food he had just popped into his mouth falling out. "Tell me you're not kidding around."

"Do you know the gender?"

"Girl!"

"Reece! We don't actually know that."

"It better be a girl."

"Shut up. I don't care if it's a boy or girl."

"I don't either, but I want a girl."

"is there a bump?" Olivia stands up, walking over and pulling my shirt up a little bit.

"Why did you keep it for so long?!"

"I'm only a few months along-"

"A few months? Reece is terrible at keeping secrets from us, and the only reason he didn't tell us about Hunter is because you guys went on your honeymoon and he wasn't around us!" Blake says.

"I kept it for a few weeks after we got back!"

I smile at him. "You still kept dropping hints."

"I did?"

"A little bit."

"Oh god."

"That's okay though. You were excited. You still are."

"You bet I am."
