Chapter 5

Opie's outside with the kids when we get there, he stands up the moment he sees us and hugs Corrie immediately.

"I'm so sorry Op" she whispers, he kisses her forehead and hugs me then after.

We stay with Opie for a few hours; the kids really needed Corrie's comfort. Opie told us he wants to be alone with his kids so with reluctance I got Corrie to leave.
"Do you have anything going on today?" Corrie asks me as we reach my bike.

"No why?"

"Let's go for a drive, far from Charming. I just need the open road and you"

I smile and kiss her lips, "Alright baby, let's go"

I get on the bike after Corrie got comfortable, she immediately wraps her arm around me and lies her head down on my shoulder. I start the bike and drive off to nowhere.

It's the day of Donna's funeral and Jax is nowhere to be seen. He didn't sleep at home last night, the days following after Donna's death have been bad for him. He hasn't said much since she died.

Neeta is already at the house when I finish getting ready for the funeral.

"Hi honey, I'm so sorry about your sister in law" Neeta says, she gives me a hug

"Thanks Neeta, and thank you...for coming today, I know it's your day off"

"Of course"

"He already drank his morning meds, and I fed him. He'll be asleep in a few"

"Alright honey. Go to your family. I've got your little one"

"Thanks" I whisper. I kiss Abel and then get in my car. I drive off to Opie's house.

I park my car and spot Kenny outside by the garage.

"Hey baby" I greet him, he hugs me tightly, sobbing in my stomach. "My mama's dead auntie Co"

"I know baby" my heart hurts for them. They had nobody but Donna when Opie went to prison. Sure Piney and I checked in but all they had were their mom and now she's gone.

I can't believe she's dead.

I cry with Kenny

"Dad's in the garden." He tells me after he pulls away. I nod and go to the garden.

"Hey" I whisper to Opie, he's alone on the table staring at the sculpture I made of him and Donna when I was 19.

"I have no idea how to cope without her Corrie"

"It's all gonna be okay" I whisper to him as I continue stroking his hair.

"I can't take care of the kids alone. I need you" he tells me

"You've got me. Always"

Jax walks up to me at the funeral. I meet him halfway and hand him his cut. He kisses me and gives Opie a nod. I watch my brother nod back, almost like an understanding.

Jax joins me and I see Gemma and Clay glaring at him. What the hell is going on?

After the service Jax leaves me to talk to Opie. I give the kids a hug and wait for Jax to finish. My dad walks up to us

"Your boyfriend ain't telling you shit. But there's things you need to know, things about Donna" he tells me when the kids walk away.

"What are you talking about?"

Piney glares, "Who do you think really killed Donna?"

"Jax said black"

"I don't give a shit what Jax said. I'm asking you"
