Chapter 68

After the photo session, the couple returned to the venue for the reception. Jax stops Corrie from walking into the tent.

She smiles at him, "What?"

His hand travels all the way up to from her arm to her face as he caresses her cheek. He stares into her eyes, "You're my wife"

Corrie beams, "I've never loved that word more, husband"

Jax kisses her lips, "You really did stay when anyone else would have bailed. I love you so much for that"

"You make it worth it" She smiles and kisses him again, "We need to get in there"

He groans, "I'd much rather go to the bathroom and have my way with you"

"So romantic" she rolls her eyes and drag him inside.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr and Mrs Teller"

As everyone cheer them on the couple walk to the middle of the dance floor. Without You plays through the sound system as they enjoy their first dance as husband and wife.

"I can't believe this day finally happened. I've been dreaming of this since I met you" Corrie whispers causing Jax to shake his head at her as he continues swaying her. "You hated me when we were in High School. You stayed away from me, never really talked to me when I was with Opie"

"Because I was in love with you and you only saw me as Opie's little sister"

He twirls her around and brings her into his body again, "I never saw you as just Opie's sister. I saw you as my world, still do."

Corrie smiles, "You're going to get so lucky tonight!"

His cheeky grin causes her to laugh, the song ends and Jax brings her in for a small kiss. He leads her to their table and both sit down.

When the speeches end and the party finally start, Jax gets lead away by the guys to drink congratulatory shots while Corrie dances with Abel.

"You look pretty mommy" Abel says. She swoons and kisses his lips, "Thank you baby. Are you having fun?"

He nods with a grin, "I and Kenny play ball"

"That sounds like fun. Are you ready to stay with Grandma for the weekend while Daddy and I go on holiday?"

He nods his head, "I'll miss you"

She hugs him tightly, "I'll miss you too honey"

Jax has a smile on his face the entire time Corrie and Abel are dancing, he feels a hand on his back and is shocked to see Nero.

"She looks beautiful"

"Yeah she does" The president agrees, "Didn't think you'd come"

Nero shrugs, "Had to come share my congratulations. I really am happy for you Jackson"

"Thanks"

Nero sighs, "Today is your wedding day and I'm happy for you. But I can't get over you lying to me about Darvany"

Jax scoffs as he takes a sip of his beer, "I don't really give a shit today."

Nero returns the scoff with a bitter smirk on his face, "Yeah you never do"

"What di' Nero say?" Chibs asks a while later, he joined Jax a few minutes ago with two fresh beers.

"Brought up Darvany, said he can't get over it"

"This is bad Jackie, he can drop our agreement with Diosa and Red Woodie"

"This is my wedding day bro. I'll handle it tomorrow"

Chibs scoffs, "When you're on your honeymoon? No Jackie boy, we handle it now."

He sighs and gulps down the rest of the beer. "Fine"

Tig grins at Corrie as she finishes her glass of champagne. "Wanna dance Tigger?"

He nods his head and grabs her hand, he leads her to the dance floor. "Where's your new husband?"

She smiles giddily, "I don't know. He's purposely avoiding me now knowing I want to dance"

Tig laughs, "You really do look beautiful Corrie, he's a lucky man"

"He really is" She replies cheekily causing him to let out a loud laugh and twirls her around.

He dances with her for four songs straight and tells her that he needs a drink because he's 'old as shit'. Corrie searches for Jax.

"Hey, have you seen my husband?" She walks up to Phil feeling giddy to just say the words. Husband, it feels so surreal. He's her husband.

"They're outside, near the river"

She grins and kisses the big man's cheek, "Thanks Phily"

He hasn't even been gone an hour and she misses him. She walks outside to get her new husband to come drink a glass of Champagne with her.

Corrie grins when she spots his blonde hair. She walks closer to find him with Chibs and Nero.

Corrie's grin disappears when she hears yelling coming from Nero

"You betrayed me Jackson, you violated my trust."

"Any rat needs to die Nero. She would have sold us out the minute we let her go."

"Her kid died because of our guns Jax. You killed a grieving mother."

Corrie almost loses her footing from the shock. He killed a woman?

"Excuse me?" Jax almost has whiplash from turning his head around. Corrie's eyes show disbelief while Jax looks guilty as fuck. "You killed a woman?"

Jax opens his mouth to say something but no words come out, "Cor..."

"The kid that shot up the school, that was your guns?"

He walked up to her aware of Chibs and Nero staring at them. "Can we talk at home?"

"Answer me" She murmurs dangerously. Of course this has to happen on their wedding day. It's their punishment for living in this life and trying to be happy. The universe says 'screw you Corrie' and ruins the happiest day of her life.

"Yeah" He whispers, "But you said we're not doing the full disclosure anymore so I-"

"Stop giving me bullshit excuses. You killed a woman after her son killed himself using your goddamn guns. You're a monster" she looks at him with disappointment. Jax has disappointed a lot of people in his life, but she has always been proud of everything he does. He feels like such a fucking failure that he has disappointed the most important woman in his life.

He feels his heart breaks at her words as he closes his eyes. He stays rooted on the same spot, paralysed with fear and regret.

"Jackie" Chibs walks up to him, slapping his back. He and Nero heard everything Corrie just told him. "I'll handle Nero, go talk to her."

He ignores the Scot and storms back to Nero wordlessly punching him in the face. He draws his hand back for another shot when Chibs holds him back. Nero cradles his face but says nothing.

"I asked you if we could handle this shit after my wedding"

"Yeah Jax, and I asked you to not kill Darvany. Guess we're both bullshitting."

Nero walks off as Jax rips himself out of Chibs's hold. "Go to her, talk to her before she leaves. That girl has handled a lot of shite, but she won't let this go"
