Jax smirks at the blonde 18 year old girl walking over to him. A cigarette dangles in his mouth.
His washed out jeans are hanging low on his hips, the tight black shirt hugs his muscles. It's Saturday afternoon and Jax is hanging around the club house. He and Opie are prospects, in a month they will be patched in.
Opie slaps him across the head, something the bigger man always do whenever his sister is near.
"What the fuck man?" Jax scowls
"Stop staring at my sister" He says. Opie walks forward to hug his sister.
"Hey brother bear" Corrie grins, "Jax, how are you?"
The twenty-one year old smirks, "always good when I see you baby"
Corrie rolls her eyes, "you act so badass now but did you tell Opie how you cried during 'all dogs go to heaven' last night?"
Jax's smirk disappears as well as his cocky attitude. The cigarette falls to the ground. Opie laughs loudly, "you promised you wouldn't say anything"
Corrie's lips turn into a smirk, "yeah and you promised you wouldn't be such a jerk in public anymore." She challenges.
The young man with the long blonde hair smirks and stalks forward. He ignores a laughing Opie and pecks Corrie on the lips.
"Sorry"
"You better be"
This girl, Jax thinks with a smirk, God he loves this girl.

"Hey, you okay honey?" Diana asks Corrie a week later. The assistant scans over her friend's ring finger noticing it's bare.
"I'm good"
Diana nods as sceptical as ever, "I like the new painting, it's really, uh, dark"
Corrie nods her head, "yeah well"
Diana sits down on the floor next to Corrie, "what happened?"
"I have divorce papers in my drawer."
"Why?" Diana breathes out in a sympathetic whisper. She hugs Corrie tightly letting the blonde cry on her shoulder.
"He went to Diosa the day I was in the hospital and had sex with some girl. Well, he claims he didn't let it go so far."
"Do you believe him?"
Corrie nods her head, "I do actually"
"Then why are your face so sad Cor?"
Corrie smiles sadly at her friend. She drops the paint brush on the floor and sighs loudly, "He's broken my heart so many times, and I forgive him for it every time. I'm tired of forgiving him."

"Hey stranger, I haven't seen you in a while" Corrie beams as Jax walks into the coffee shop she's working in to save for college. He flashes her a quick smile.
"What's wrong?"
"Can we talk in private?" He asks, his voice breaking. Jax doesn't want to do this but he knows he has to. She deserves better than a scumbag on his way to prison for theft and battery.
"Yeah sure. I'm on my break anyway"
Jax grabs her hand and pulls her outside. He kisses her lips softly savouring the taste of her lips.
"I'm in love with you Corrie, always has been. You're the only girl I've ever respected. I wish I didn't have to do this but you deserve so much better than me."
"What are you doing Jax?" she asks feeling like shit. This isn't going well.
"I'm going to prison soon, and you're on your way to college so I just think it's better if we quit this."
Corrie scoffs, her heart is her throat. "You think it's better if we quit this. You decided that and now I just have to accept it? You're a fucking asshole Jax."
His lips quiver, his heart is broken, "I know I am."
Corrie flinches at the dead broken voice, "please just leave"
Jax swallows back tears, "I love you Corrie."
She scoffs, "I love you too. Which is why I don't understand why you don't think we're strong enough to survive prison and college?"
He stands up and bends down to kiss her on her cheek, his lips linger as both of them try to control their tears, "I'm sorry."

Gemma smirks all the way to the gallery. The matriarch heard through the grapevine that Corrie and Jax are broken up.
She storms into the office relieved the pesky assistant isn't there. She spots Corrie sitting at her desk filling in papers.
"Looks like divorce papers" She taunts, the smirk widening.
"It isn't" Corrie taunts back.
Gemma stalks forward, she smells of old smoke and liquor, "My son finally realized he deserves better and fucked another pussy. You know if you get divorced you'll have to give him back his son, right?"
The 35 year old shakes her head in defeat, "I'm not in the mood for your rib-ticklers anymore Gemma. I adopted Abel, he's legally mine so is the baby in my stomach"
Corrie stands up, "You know, you could have redeemed yourself, tried to make it better that you drove around drunk with Abel in the car. You could have asked for forgiveness and we would have granted it. So why are you continuing this game? I'm not the bad guy Gem. I'm simply a mom protecting my kid."
Gemma falters slightly but doesn't let it show. Corrie is right, the matriarch made a mistake, and she knows Corrie and Jax love her so why didn't she beg for another chance? Then she could have had Abel back already.
"You know I didn't mean to drive around with him drunk. I was already drinking with Wayne after Nero left and I was just so excited that you asked me to take Abel."
Corrie shrugs, "that's all you had to do Gemma."
The former queen smiles, "how far along are you?"
"8 months" Corrie beams
"You know what you're having?"
Corrie shakes her head in denial, she strokes her big belly. "I had a cancer scare and Jax and I just stopped being excited for the baby so we never found out the sex."
Gemma sighs, "shit hasn't been good between you and Jax has it? I didn't make it better either."
Corrie shrugs, "I haven't really been thinking about you, I'm sorry to say that"
"It's fine" Gemma smirks, "I'm sorry things haven't been good. It will get better though."
"I doubt it" Corrie scrunches up her face in pain when she feels discomfort in her belly.
"What's wrong?" Gemma asks
"I don't feel so good." She says and slowly sits down. Gemma hands her a glass of water, "It can be Braxton Hicks contractions. Nothing serious"
"I hope so-oh!" Corrie sits up forward, her eyes widening at the water on the floor.
Gemma also notices it, "Oh baby, that wasn't Braxton Hicks. You're in labour."
