"Jax, Corrie, good to see you.I understand you have questions"
The doctor gestures for them to sit down on the leather chairs.
His office is dull and empty, fitting the current atmosphere to a T.
"How soon can you find out if the mass is cancerous?" Corrie asks, aware of Jax's hand tightening around hers when she mentions the word 'cancerous'.
"I can remove the mass tomorrow morning, I have an opening in my schedule if it will fit both of you. I understand that you're anxious."
Corrie looks at Jax, "Tomorrow morning?"He nods in agreement.
"What if she has...." He frowns and tries to keep the tears at bay, "cancer? What must we do then?" Jax spits out the words as though venomous.
"Then we will determine if the cancer has spread and to where, we will have to perform surgery again to get all the cancer cells out."
"The baby?" Corrie asks
The doctor turns speechless as he gives the couple he has grown to really adore a sympathetic look."Chemotherapy and other cancer-fighting drugs can be immensely dangerous to the foetus. You're 5 months pregnant, so we will have to delay the treatment which will increase the chances of the cancer spreading to other organs."
"W-w-why must we wait?" Jax stutters out
"Because it's harmful to the baby J" Corrie coos him
Jax shakes his head as anger bubbles to the surface "No. If the baby is stopping Cor from getting treatment then I say terminate the pregnancy."
"Jax!" Corrie argues but the doctor intervenes before the couple could start an argument.
"Whoa, whoa, Jackson, we don't even know if the mass is cancerous. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
"Then schedule that damn surgery for tomorrow morning." He snaps and storms out of the room.
Corrie turns back to the doctor in tears, "I-I'm sorry Doctor"
The older man shakes his head with a gentle smile, "I'll schedule the surgery for tomorrow morning at 7. I'm going to ask you to go home, pack a bag and we'll hospitalize you tonight."
"Alright, thank you."
"I'll see you tonight"

Jax is pacing a hole in the floor as he waits for Corrie outside the reception area of St. Thomas.
His blue eyes are flared up in anger and a river tears.
"Why did you leave?" She asks him softly, afraid her voice will break.
Her own green orbs are swimming in tears.
"Do you really think I will be able to go on if you have cancer?"
"Nobody asked you to, I'm not going anywhere Jackson"
"You don't know that" he stresses and pinches his nose to keep the tears from falling. "only a few people have beaten cancer. What if you die Corrie?"
"We're not even sure if it is cancer yet, please, calm down. We need to pack a bag and then come back here. We can discuss everything after we find out if I cancer or not."
"Fine" he whispers. "Let's go home."
**
Corrie packs a bag filled with clothes, entertainment and toiletries.
The couple gets ready to go back to St. Thomas. Corrie's only request is for Lyla to bring by Abel a bit after the surgery.
Her friend agreed that it's fair, and she'll also keep the club up to speed.
Corrie gets prepped and settled into her room with Jax by her side.
Nurse Betsy, from the second shooting, walks in with a big smile.
"No offence, I was hoping to never see your gorgeous face again."
Corrie smiles softly, "I was hoping to never see yours as well but here we are."
Nurse Betsy chuckles, "things will be fine. Jax, visiting hours is actually over but I'll bend the rules for you today."
The biker nods with a small smile, "thank you."
"Rest up, tomorrow is a big day."
Nurse Betsy leaves and Corrie turns to her husband, "lie with me?"He nods, "I love you. I haven't said it in a while. I really do fucking love you."
"I love you too my gorgeous husband."
