Corrie's POV

Opie drops me off at Gemma's because I insisted on going to see Abel. He's the only thing in my life that will calm me down now. Opie tries to cover for Jax, but I refuse to listen. I have no idea why Lyla was there but I was actually thankful for her, she managed to calm Opie down which ultimately calmed me down.

"What are you doing here?" Gemma asks me as she invites me in to her house; Clay is sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper. He looks up at me but doesn't pay much attention. I think he doesn't want to deal with blubbering, crying mess.

"I found... Jax with that porn star"

"Ima?" Gemma asks astonished

"Y-yeah" I cry as she wraps her arms around me, "I just want Abel!" I cry out and she nods.

"Calm down, you'll upset him if you're crying" She says softly, "Clay make her some tea!"

Clay nods and goes to boil the kettle. Normally I'd smirk to see such a hard ass man whipped by his wife but I'm not in the mood for jokes now.

He hands me a cup of steaming hot tea. I thank him and take a sip, I've calmed down by now.

"Let's go see your baby, mama" Gemma says softly and takes me to her bedroom where Abel is sleeping soundly. I pick him up gently and cradle him in my body.

"I love you so much my baby boy. I love you" I whisper to him and softly sing a lullaby Donna used to sing to her children. I miss her so much right now, she always knew how to calm me down. She would have gone to Jax right now and punch him to a pulp even though he can easily overpower her.

"Sleep here tonight. In Jax's old room"

"Thanks Gem" She nods and kisses my temple.

I take Abel with me and walk to Jax's old room. I have a lot of memories in this room, thinking about that makes me sad again. I slip into an old T-shirt of his that was still in the cupboard and lie down on the bed with Abel on my chest.

"Goodnight baby" Gemma says and leans down to kiss my head.

"Thanks Gem"

She nods and leaves the room, I cry myself to sleep.

Jax's POV

Pissed off and sad I make my way to work the next morning. I'm working at TM today with Opie. I'm pretty sure he'll beat me with a spanner. Best friend or not, Corrie has always come first in his life.

It's awkward and silent between us; I'm desperate to make noise – to say anything.

"You haven't really said anything about the Cartel business man" I murmur

"Don't really know who I'm talking to" he mumbles, not even looking at me.

"What the hell's that supposed to mean?" I ask my best friend. We've been best friends since we were 6, we've had our fair share of fights – some bloody, some moody – but he has never been this pissed off at me. He always told me he'd kill me if I hurt Corrie.

"You voted it in, agreed with Clay even though the two of you haven't seen eye to eye in a long time. I don't know if I'm talking to you or Clay anymore."

"When you were inside... what did you think about?"

"Donna, my kids" he answers truthfully.

"I thought of Corrie, and Abel. She wasn't even back in my life yet I thought of her. I've loved her since we were kids, I've thought of her every day since we met. I just want something better for me and her and Abel, they're my family now."

"The cartel is the way to do that?" he asks bewildered

"Earning big is!"

Opie scoffs, "Who knows if you'll have a family to go home to"

My heart falls at his words, I don't want to believe it but I know there's a chance that Corrie will split. She doesn't believe in cheating.

"She won't ever take my kid away, and she won't leave without him"

"Is that all you're bargaining this on?"

"I need to man" I hate that my voice breaks, I'm desperate to believe that she won't leave me. "I can't lose her, I didn't cheat Ope. I'd never do that. How stupid do you think I am? I called her, told her to come to the club house. Why the hell would I fuck Ima if I knew she'd be on her way over?"

Opie sighs, "I know you love her"

"Please tell me you believe me."

"I do. I hate that I do but I do. I'll help you with Corrie"

I drop my tools and hug him, "Thanks man"
