I park the car and take Abel out of the car, Corrie hops out and lay out a blanket for us. "It's time son, hold onto that thing I gave you" I whisper in Abel's ear.

I sit down on the blanket and kiss Corrie's head.

"Abel has a present for you" I say hoarsely

She frowns but looks at Abel and the ring I just put back in his jean pocket catches her eye. She gasps and pull it out, "Jax?"

My heart hammers in my chest, here I am – a man who has done this once – but has never meant it like I mean it now. I was a fool when I proposed to Wendy. Well, she told me she was knocked up and I told her that we should probably get married then. It was a loveless marriage to a knocked up crow eater. Thank God I divorced her ass before Corrie came back.

"I'm not good at this." I whisper, feeling my heart vessels constrict in my chest. My heart pumps loudly, I can hear it in my ears.

"Just say it" She whispers with a beaming smile.

"The day I met you, you had a pink dress on with butterflies on the ends and white flats. Your hair was braided to the side. You were only three but I thought you were damn cute."

"Opie didn't want to play with me, but you told him that tap football needed three people and not just two"

I grin, "I liked you, even though girls had cooties. Then, when I was eighteen I knew I had to have you. You were so beautiful then, more beautiful than any of the seniors in school. Donna told me that I wasn't allowed to date you if I didn't clean my act so I stopped fooling around with chicks. I fell in love with you and I've been in love with you ever since. Marry me Corrine Winston, be my wife."

Corrie's crying by the time I finish my speech, "Of course I'll marry you Jackson"
