Chapter 39

"Wanna go for a walk baby?" Corrie asks Abel. They have been at the park for hours but Abel has yet to lose his energy. The little boy nods his head, "Can we go to the fissies?"

Corrie smiles, "Yeah we can go to the fishes. Remember where the fishes live?"

Abel looks lost in thought, Corrie could actually see the wheels turning in his head. "Uh, ponk?"

"Pond buttercup, but you're close so well done"

He looks so damn proud of himself as Corrie kisses his cheek. She takes his hand in hers and they walk over to the pond on the other side of the park.

Back in Mackey's house, Tig comes back with a snow globe and a hammer. "no pipe, but I found these"

Jax takes the snow globe out of his hand and smirks down at it as he inspects it, "Small world."

"Yeah it is" Tig agrees.

"Take his gag off"

Mackey breathes through his nose after Chibs ripped off the gag.

"Anyone figures out it was you guys, you know what happens next time you're inside?" Mackey continues to bargain although he knows he has no protection against these guys and absolutely no waver. He knows he's about to die.

"You wager how long it takes to kill one of us?" Jax catechize

"Please" The sergeant begs, "I'm sorry about your friend. I was told to do it. It wasn't my call"

"Don't pass the buck man, that's weak. I wanna hear how sorry you are"

Jax gets in his face, the glint in Jax's blue eyes scaring not only Mackey but Bobby as well.

"I am sorry" Mackey whispers, "God, I'm sorry" he continues to sob.

"Please. I'll do anything you want, I'll help anyone inside. Please" He begs

"I'm still not feeling it"

Mackey cries out like a little bitch. Bobby, who is rooted in his spot on the couch, looks at Jax, "We doing this?"

"I got this" Jax whispers out Opie's words to Chibs as they round Mackey. The rage empowers Jax as he starts beating Mackey with the snow globe.

His cries have already stopped, he's lifeless on the ground, yet Jax continues to beat him. All he can see is Opie's face staring back at him. That last look in Opie's eyes before he got killed.

"Jackie, Jackie. Come on" Chibs grabs his arm to stop him from beating the already dead man.

"It's done" Bobby murmurs

"Come on baby, it's getting dark out" Corrie tells Abel as she looks at sky. The sun has been replaced by twilight illuminating the sky.

"Is the fissies sleeping mama?"

"Yeah" She tells Abel with a smile, "They are sleeping now so we have to go. We can visit them tomorrow again"

"Otay" Abel grabs his mother's hand and they walk over to Corrie's car. There are still a few people in the park.

Corrie straps him in his car seat and gets into the front seat of her car. She pulls out the parking lot and drives off to her house.

Bobby is waiting for her at the house. He gets off his bike when she gets out of the car. She gets a tuckered out Abel out of the car.

Bobby helps her with Abel as she struggles with his bag and him.

"Ah, thanks" She mumbles and shuts the car door, she locks it and unlocks the house.

"I'll put him to bed." Bobby tells her with a smile. Corrie sits down on the kitchen counter and rests her head in her hands.

"He's sleeping soundly" Bobby's voice brings her out of her day dreaming.

"Good" She looks at Bobby, "Twice in one day, I feel the love Bob"

He smirks and sits down on the kitchen, he hands her a cigarette and pulls one out for himself as well.

"Thanks" Corrie murmurs when Bobby lights it for her.

"So how was the retaliation?" Corrie questions

"Bloody"

Corrie nods, "Thanks for talking to me Bobby. You're the only one that still does."

Bobby looks at her and kisses her temple. He hugs her, "Things will be okay Corrie."

She scoffs, "I'm really glad you're optimistic"
