A couple of people were staring at Danny, they obviously recognised him, but it wasn’t too bad. He pushed me towards a table in the corner, there was quite a bit of privacy here too. I jumped out of the wheelchair, taking the comfortable seat.

“Totally unfair.” Susan whined.

“This is my first time outside the hospital in over a month. I get the comfy chair.” She sighed in defeat. My argument was pretty strong.

“What do you guys want?” Danny asked.

“Can I have a hot chocolate with a shot of caramel and whipped cream, with a salted caramel muffin?” I asked.

“Yeah, I can try to get you that.” He chuckled. He turned to Susan.

“Just a hot chocolate, I’ll come up and help you.” They walked off, leaving me on my own at the table. I pulled out my phone and started playing 2048. This game is my life, I love it so much. About 5 minutes later Susan came back with her drink. And I still haven’t beat the stupid game.

“Danny is bringing yours over.” She smiled.

“Here you go.” Danny announced proudly, handing over my stuff.

“I love you right now.” I laughed.

“Who doesn’t?” He teased.

“I don’t!” Susan blurted, making us all laugh.

“When are the guys coming?” I asked Danny.

“They’ll probably be here in 10-15 minutes. But forget them, they smell. Let’s talk about something interesting. Favourite artists?”

“Mean!” I argued. How could I not include The Script with him there? But they would be in my top 5 anyway. “Fine, I have a few. OneRepublic, The Script, American Authors and Maroon 5, oh and Imagine Dragons. That’s probably my top 5.” I told him.

“OneRepublic are such an amazing group of people.” Danny informed me.

“Ryan Tedder is my celeb crush, all the way.” I giggled.

“He’s a good friend, maybe I could get him to say hi sometime.” Danny teased, Susan just laughed.

“Amy would die if that happened. No lie. She’d just drop dead.” I hate to say it, but this flicked a switch in me. Guess it was talking about being dead, I just couldn’t be happy. It made me think about my family. I took a sip of my drink and tried to hide it. I don’t know how successful I was.

“What about favourite movies?” Danny asked. I just shrugged, I wasn’t in the mood to talk any more. I hate it when this happens. A part of me knows I’m being childish or stupid, but I have no control over it. I was fighting back the tears. This is my first day out, I am not going to have a break down. Not yet anyway.
