“Come on then trouble.” Dan chuckled from the door.
“I’m coming! Give me a second.”
“Your hair looks fine, stop fussing.” Dan assured me.
“You can’t say anything Mr, you spend FOREVER on your hair.” I countered, he just shrugged.
“Well, I’m ready now. I am honestly considering leaving you behind.” He muttered. “We are going to miss our reservation.” He warned.
“Fine, I’m coming.” I sighed, walking over to him. “Happy now?”
“Ecstatic.” He leant in and gave me a quick kiss, taking one of my hands and leading me out of the door. Yeah, so we are going out for a meal. Not a posh one, I’m glad we both agreed on that. I dressed casual, just in case Dan was planning on doing something stupid, like taking us somewhere with higher standards. Denim shirt with a black vest underneath, the shirt wasn’t buttoned up. It was actually a pretty nice night in Dublin, it was just beginning to get dark but it wasn’t cold. And Danny looked stunning as always, I mean, considering he wears very similar things everyday you’d think you get used to it. You don’t. “You okay babe?” He asked, leaning closer.
“I’m fine, just thinking.” I smiled back at him.
“What about?”
“You.” I told him truthfully, he tried to hide his smile, but I saw it. Or half of it.
“I’m thinking about you too.” He confessed, looking straight ahead. We didn’t say anything for a while, just enjoying the silence.
“Where are we even going?” I asked eventually.
“Wait and see.”
“Dan, please.” I pleaded, he just shook his head.
“Not happening.”
“Will I know it?”
“Maybe, you have heard of the area. The place I’m taking you too is one I think you’ll appreciate. I wanted to take you to some Italian place, but I think it’s a little too much for today.” He explained.
“I love everything you do Dan, I’m sure I’ll love it.” I assure him.
“I know babe. Just a little further now.” We turned a few more corners when I saw something I did recognise. The Temple Bar. “We are going to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen, then heading over to the pub.” I didn’t say anything, just span him round for a kiss. He knows me too well, give me a burger and I’m happy. “Like it?”
“Dan, you know me so well.” I laughed, pulling him through the door. The waitress took us to a table, she took a shining to Dan straight away.
