It’s been a week since the party and Danny actually texted me! We are finally returning to normal now. And Jay and I are fine, we’re getting on really well and have been spending a lot of time together.

“Amy! We need to go!” Shawn shouted. Parent’s evening.

“Let’s not.” I sighed as I walked out with him.

“Cheer up, Danny is coming like he promised. And the boys too.” I can’t wait to see them, or more to see Danny to be honest, we haven’t spoken face to face since the day he stormed off. We’ve had a few phone calls and loads of texts though. Glen has been round a few times, but that’s been it.

“Fine.” I smiled, we got into the car and drove to the school. Honestly, I was nervous, this is my first parents evening without parents. And I am scared. The reports can’t be great.

“Stop worrying.” Shawn laughed, pulling me into a hug.

“Yeah, yeah.” I saw the guys. I ran to Glen and gave him a hug.

“Sorry about last time, you should have let me know you were coming.” I smiled awkwardly, Jay and I were spending time together and Glen walked in. It’s not like we were having sex, I refuse to let anyone see my scars. But Glen wasn’t too thrilled with the situation.

“Oh trust me, I will. I am not walking in on that EVER again!” He laughed. Danny and Mark just looked confused, I pulled them into a hug. There are a lot of hugs.

“Long time no see.” I said to Danny.

“I’m sorry. Look, we are still best friends right?” He asked awkwardly.

“Of course Danno!” And everything was pretty much normal again. I can find out why he was acting weird later. Now we have meetings to get too.

History and English went well, as I thought they might. They are, after all, my favourite subjects. German, not so much…

“Amy is massively below her expected grade. She may have to leave the course.” There was a stunned silence.

“This is because her family died.” Danny argued, his voice getting louder. “She can’t control that. The other teachers have taken this into account.” I placed a hand on his shoulder, he took a breath, trying to calm down.

“I understand this, but she is struggling to keep up with us.”

“So this is about her effect on the class? Not to do with her then.” Danny pressed. Apparently annoyed that she was doing this for the other students.

“I don’t think she can handle the work.” Miss told him with a sigh. I don’t think I can handle the work.
