I ran out of English as quickly as humanely possible, it went well. Surprisingly so, which is one of the main reasons I rushed to leave, so it wouldn’t get worse. I got outside the school and began searching for the boys, I eventually spotted their car and climbed in.
“How was school?” Dan asked, leaning over to kiss me.
“Fabulous babe. Surprisingly so.” I laughed. “Where are we headed now?”
“Gunna find you some clothes for tonight.” Mark reminded me from the front.
“Oh yeah, wearing a tux Dan?” I asked, trying not to laugh.
“I don’t think so. I’m thinking smart casual, you can never go wrong there.” He informed me.
“Whatever you say.” I smiled fondly at him, reaching over and grabbing his hand. He squeezed my hand, it made me think of my sister; she used to do that, she called it her secret kiss. I found myself smiling, with a tear trickling down my face.
“What is it?” Dan asked softly, gently brushing the tear from my face.
“Izz used to do that, squeeze someone’s hand. She called it her secret kiss.” I looked into his eyes and gave his hand a squeeze, letting him know that it’s okay.
“That’s really cute.” He stated, leaving me to think about the things we would do, even all the stupid stuff I used to hate. In a way I’m glad I’ve started to move on, instead of completely breaking down whenever I think of them I can look back fondly, think of the good times. Sure, I still have bad days and some awful moments, but things are getting better.
“See the asshole today?” Mark questioned, I don’t think they are particularly fond of silence.
“Ha, I saw him around. He avoided me.” I chuckled.
“Good, he has learnt his lesson then.” Dan commented possessively, I fought to keep the laughter in. Dan is such a cutie.
“Ah, is Danno jealous?” I teased, he shot me a look that told me he really didn’t want to joke about this. I guess he has a point, Jay started a chain of events that ultimately led to me in a coma. Yeah, I can see why that would irritate Dan.
“I am not jealous.” I gave him my best sorry eyes I can manage, eventually his eyes softened and he pulled me into a hug with a laugh. “I can’t even pretend to be upset with you.” He complained.
“Hey, at least you don’t need to constantly look at the most adorable face on the planet.” I argued.
“Stop looking in the mirror then.”
“Cheesy. So very cheesy.” I giggled, but kissed him. Because although it was incredibly cheesy, it was also really cute and made me want to melt in his arms. Like I said, I am too lucky. He is beyond great to me.
