The glass in my hand smashed against the floor, my hand now gripping the counter beside me. The only thing stopping me from falling to the floor. “She what?” I couldn’t of heard right, no way. Not possible.

“Danny, you need to get here. Get here real fast. She is in hospital.” Glen cried.

“But what’s wrong with her?” I could barely speak, tears were forming in my eyes.

“I don’t know, she. She’s been cutting Dan. And, she must have fallen over or something, she hit her head. There was so much blood. Just get your ass over here.” He sobbed.

“Shit.” And I was crying too. “Fuck. I’ll be on the first flight over.” And I hung up. Why didn’t she call? Why wouldn’t she try and get help? I ran my hand through my hair and started packing, Mark came in at some point.

“Where are you going?” He asked.

“Amy’s in hospital. I’m going back.” I stammered.

“What!” He came up to me and pulled me into a hug. Seeing that I needed comforting, as usual I couldn’t help but lean into the hug before forcing myself to pull away.

“Get packing we need to go.” I ordered, still throwing stuff into the case.

“Dan, why are your hands all cut?” Shit, they are. I hadn’t even realised.

“I dropped a glass, must have leant on it or something. I don’t know and I don’t really care. I’m going to the airport and I am finding my fucking girl.” Mark sighed and went to grab his stuff too, he knows I’m not changing my mind about any of this. Damn right, we need to be there for her. 10 minutes later and we are sat in his car on our way to the airport.

“Is there even a flight?” He asked after a few minutes of silence.

“There has to be.” I know I didn’t sound confident, I wiped away the tears that had started to fall again.

“She’ll be okay Dan.” Mark tried to comfort me.

“Will she? This won’t be alright Mark. I was supposed to be there for her.”

“Dan, sometimes she just doesn’t want help. There was and is nothing you can do.”

“No. Don’t. If I was there, I could have helped her out. This isn’t the first time is it? She isn’t getting better!”

“How can you say that? You don’t know why she did it, but I can tell you this. She has been getting better, if you can’t see that it’s your own problem.” Mark snapped, his eyes wet. We sat in silence for another 10 minutes.

“I’m sorry. I forget you all love her too. You are right.” I sighed, letting the tears fall.
