Dan did get better, the nightmares were coming less and less. After the interview the papers died down a bit, they were definitely less harsh. Things have been going well actually. We finally seemed to have sorted things out, of course we will have issues; everyone does. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“You ready?” Dan asked, I quickly checked in the mirror. As ready as I’ll ever be.
“Sure I am.” I took his hand, trying not to stare too much. He was wearing a suit, or as close as he would get to one. And it was a mouth-watering sight.
“You know I have something else planned for us too.” He hinted, yet again.
“I do know, because you haven’t shut up about it.” I laughed.
“I’m excited.” He shrugged. I just rolled my eyes, I had noticed that too. “Hey, tonight will be fun. Forget about everything I have planned. Tonight is for you.”
“You have to have fun too.” I pointed out.
“I always have fun with you.” I hate it when he says those cute things with such sincerity, it kills me. Honestly. One of these days my heart will just give up, it beats like crazy, skips beats; it can barely keep up with Dan and his bloody adorableness.
“One of these days you’re going to kill me.” I muttered.
“I hope not.” He chuckled, pulling me closer to him. “Now, for the lady.” He pointed to a limo, making me laugh even more.
“You are too much.” I giggled, kissing him.
“I want this night to be one to remember.” He shrugged, a sheepish smile on his face.
“It will be baby.” I assured him, pulling him to the limo. Mark and Glen sat there smiling. “Hey guys.” I pulled them into a hug.
“You look gorgeous.” Glen complimented with a smile.
“Thanks. Dan picked it out.”
“I’m not even surprised.” Mark chuckled, a fond smile on his face. “Shawn is meeting us there, he managed to get a bit of time off work. He had to see you.” My smile grew even bigger.
“You guys are the best. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anyone better.” They all knew what I meant, I would love to have my own family here, but these guys are the next best thing.
“Is this what it will feel like with my own daughter?” Mark muttered, more to himself.
“Ten times worse Marky Mark.” I laughed, he glared at me playfully.
“At least I have a boy.” Glen sighed in relief.
“You think that’s better?” I tried not to laugh at his questioning look. “Not all guys are great Glen, you will have to deal with all the broken hearts that show up at the door. And stop him from turning into a massive asshole.”
