“I really enjoyed that Dan.” I smiled as we walked into the flat.
“I’m glad. I did too.” He leant in and kissed me, it quickly became heated. Stumbling backwards until my back was against the wall, my arms were wrapped around his neck and I could feel his smile against my lips. “I really did.” He murmured as he pulled back for breath. He came back with a passionate ferocity.
“Amy, is that you? Your -” Shawn began. Dan pulled back quickly. “Urm, doesn’t matter.” He muttered walking away. Dan just smiled at me again, leaning down to kiss me again.
“As much as I want to continue, maybe we should go see what Shawn wants.” He sighed.
“Fine then.” I grabbed his hand and let him pull me into the living room, sat in there was my family and Henry and Gus and Mark and Glen. Basically every one. They had all heard our heated make out session. Awkward.
“Where did you two go?” Julie asked, looking stern, as I opened my mouth she continued to talk. “You can’t just run off like that. Not tell anyone where you are going.” Shawn shot me an apologetic look, in fact, everyone seemed pretty sorry for me.
“Look, I can almost appreciate that you suddenly want a part in my life. Almost. But things are different now, Danny and I often head out. The guys all trust me, they trust Dan. This relationship is a new thing, before this he was all I had. I relied on him more than anyone else. But these people sat around us now, they are my family, they completely trust me, I trust them and what we have going seems to be working right now.”
“Amy, it’s great you are enjoying it here. But, after all we are your family. You belong with us.”
“Fuck this. I am not leaving them. How dare you show up and say that. Danny can we go somewhere? Anywhere?”
“I get you want what’s best for her, but she wants to stay. And that has to mean something.” Danny insisted. “How about we go and get some work done?” The boys nodded and we headed into my room. Glen grabbed the laptop and Mark ran to grab the spare guitar. This is why I love Dan. He backs me up, he knows what will help calm me down and what can make me smile. He sat on the bed, I sat beside him, resting my head on his shoulder. “Don’t stress about it. We won’t lose you.” He whispered before the boys came back.
“I know.” I gave him a quick kiss as Glen walked in with Mark.
“Shawn’s giving them a right telling off.” Mark smirked.
“You ain’t going nowhere.” Glen assured me, flashing a cheeky little grin. “What are we singing first then?”
“Write something new.” I suggested.
“Nah, not today. Not enough tea. Maybe tomorrow.” Dan laughed. “How about Budapest?” He knows I love that song, I love it when OneRepublic cover it.
“If you think you can do better.” I challenged. They all shared glances and the usual smirk from Dan. And I am sad to say, it was pretty awesome. I wanted it to suck, but really it was almost as good as the OneRepublic cover. “That was pretty good actually.” I admitted sadly.
