"Signa Mae?? Who is that?" Sadie asked on the phone.
"Girl I met at a party" Finn shrugged.
"Another party?" Sadie frowned.
"Sadie don't mom me. I've been to one every other day it feels like" Finn chuckled dryly.
"Finn-"
"I know Sadie" He huffed. "Just still sucks"
"It sucks for all of us" Sadie retorted.
"But she calls you" Finn shot back.
There was a silence on the other end of the line. Then Sadie sighed.
"How do you know that?" She muttered defeatedly.
"You're not very slick Sades" Finn shrugged.
"Whatever. That isn't the point. The point is you're dealing with this unhealthily and acknowledging random instagram models on your posts and ignoring your friends isn't helping!" Sadie scolded him.
"They all wanna know about her. When she's coming around, how she is, what project she's doing next" Finn huffed.
"Then tell them you don't wanna talk about her!" Sadie argued as she began organizing her makeup.
"But then that sounds bad!" Finn groaned and laid back on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Then talk to us!! We know what's going on! And we won't ask!" Sadie rolled her eyes as she sorted the products into eye, lip, face, and other.
"I don't know... there's something about us all being together that reminds me of her. Because it feels like somethings... missing... you know? Is that just me?" Finn frowned.
Sadie sighed. It wasn't. The whole group had actually been quite disjointed and off since Declan had up and left. Like she had taken some invisible rope with her and they no longer had anything to grab onto. To ground themselves with. She was an anchor, and now they were all floating along by themselves.
"Probably" Sadie replied. She didn't want to encourage him.
"Whatever" Finn sighed, "Wanna come over tonight?"
"Sure. Anytime after 8 works" She said, recalling her and Caleb were getting dinner together before he had a night photoshoot.
"Chinese order-in?" Finn suggested.
"You know it" Sadie smiled, "I'll see you then Finny"
