In the end, Declan fell asleep.

She had a strange dream about the beach. She was sitting there, on the sand, while people she knew from every walk of life were playing and splashing around and swimming in the waves. She laughed at Gaten, dunking Millie for about the fourth time, and smiled at Sadie and Caleb splashing each other, Finn and Noah swimming around and talking among themselves. Cameron and Dove and Karan were bouncing around, trying to jump the waves and ride them to into shore. Her mother was sat up on a large rock, sunbathing. Elliot and Noelle and Shelby and Eastan were having contests, seeing who could hold their breaths or underwater handstands the longest. Charlie and Emily and Natalia and Joe and Dacre and Zoey were treading water, swimming around, and talking, Dacre diving away to visit with the kids every once in awhile before diving back to the others. Zig and the boys were running in a circle, trying their best to create a whirlpool on their own, their attempt and desperate shouts of "Faster!" "Get those legs up Eddie!" "Come onnnnn boyssssss!" were entertaining everyone. She smiled from the sand and wondered why she was all alone up on the beach. She stood up and made her way down to the shore. Once she arrived, she stood there, letting the water lap at her feet for a moment, before continuing on. But as she tried to breach the water, she ran into something. She tried again, and no avail. Her friends were just feet away, laughing and swimming, and yet they didn't seem to notice. She pressed her hand up and found it met with some sort of invisible barrier.

"What the hell?"

"Gaten! Be careful with the poor girl!" Natalia chuckled.

"Nat?" Declan walked along the barrier until she stood in front of the girl. "Natalia! Natalia!"

But she didn't hear her.

"Finn? Millie? Caleb? Cam?!" She shouted, but no one could hear her. They kept laughing and swimming.

Suddenly, Declan's mother turned to her from her place on her rock.

"Mom?" Declan frowned.

"Declan. What are you doing all the way over there?" Her mother retorted, a sleek eyebrow raised and an unimpressed look on her face.

"I can't get through. No one can hear me" Declan replied, her tone turning colder.

"Well I can hear you" Her mother replied with the same tone.

"And yet there you sit" Declan pointed out.

"Be careful what you wish for" Her mother said simply, before pointing to Zig and the boys.

Declan looked over to see they had succeeded in creating the whirl pool.

"Oh my gosh!" Noah gasped.

"You did it!" Dove jumped up and down.

"Eyyyy! We got it!" Caro smiled and high-fived Zig, who was running around and celebrating.

"I wish Declan were here" Millie pipped up. The group fell quiet.

"She would have laughed at you guys" Cameron smiled sadly.

"What is going on?! I'm right here!" Declan turned to her mother.

The woman turned to look at her, ignored her, and then pointed towards the whirlpool again.
