LACEY'S POV:
I gasped as I heard his soft, quiet voice.
I turned my head slightly, wincing at the pain in my back to see a wide eyed blond boy staring down at me.
"You're g-going to get caught in here," I breathed out, feeling dizzy, probably from the loss of blood.
"I'm glad I followed you here," he gulped, before kneeling down besides me and looking at me with much sympathy in his eyes.
He took - what seemed to be - a vaguely familiar hunting knife from behind his shirt,
(He had it tucked behind his shirt by the way...) and began cutting the rope off my hands.
"You're a stranger," I whispered. "I shouldn't be trusting you."
"W-we may be as close as strangers, (SEE WHAT I DID THERE HAH!) but I'm not just leaving you here like this," he motioned towards the mess I was.
I nodded, hesitantly giving in.
"I apologize for having you see me in this state," I said quietly, waiting for him to finish cutting the thick rope that kept me in this morbid and disgusting room.
When he finally finished I slowly stood up, trying my best to ignore the numbness my body felt.
"D-do you need help?" He asked, voice shaking slightly.
"N-" my knees gave out and I fell with a thud to the cold stone floor.
I let out a whimper of pain as my whipped side came in contact with the ground.
I will surely get scars from this.
Luke quickly rushed to my side, trying to help me up.
"N-no!" I yelled, wincing as his fingers lightly touched my bare sides.
"What will happen if you get caught leaving this room?" He asked, chest falling and rising rather quickly.
"I'll get thrown out," I breathed out.
"Are you willing to risk that chance?"
"I-I don't know," I replied.
"Make a choice. How long 'till you're allowed to leave?"
"Twenty-four hours," I sighed, closing my eyes.
"Let me help you," he spoke softly.
"I-I need to get cleaned up and change," I remarked, trying to make up an excuse, so he wouldn't have to help me.
He sighed, "here.
Luke handed me the red, plaid, long-sleeved, button-up, shirt he was wearing
I pulled it on, buttoning the buttons as quickly as I could.
It was far too big for me, but I couldn't care less at the moment.
The leather suit would hurt, due to the tightness of it.
I quickly put on my socks, grabbed my boots and leather suit and began running outside.
"Wait!" I exclaimed, feeling something was off.
"M-my mask," I said quietly.
"You're already 'exposed'," he said, making quotations with his fingers when he said exposed.
"Right," I nodded and continued following him out into the woods, taking the same path I had taken when I went to scavenge the hospital.
"Give me that," he said, taking the items I was holding into his arms as we ran deeper and deeper into the woods of multiple colors.
When his hand came in contact with my arm I winced, feeling a burning sensation tingle its way up my veins.
"You felt it too?" He questioned me.
I nodded, "is it something you get from breathing in the air?"
He shook his head, "I've lived out here for a couple of years, I got this recently."
He pulled some rubber bands off his right wrist to expose the glowing pentagon-shaped object underneath his skin he had showed me earlier today
I nodded, tugging down the sleeve of my-his shirt to see that the shape and color it glowed were identical.
"I haven't heard of anyone else having it," he explained.
We were not running anymore, but speed walking, town peaking out through the trees.
He suddenly took a left and my eyes widened at the sight in front of me.
There was a brick path leading to a cabin, and to the far left was a large waterfall, the green grass was brightest shade of green I'd ever seen.
"Y-you live here?" I asked, eyes widening.
He nodded, turning the knob.
The door creaked open, and we stepped in.
It was dark inside; the only lighting was that of the moons night light.
He grabbed something off of a table besides the door and pushed a button on it, causing it to light up the room a lot more.
"Luke?" I heard a slightly raspy voice call out. "Is that you?"
"Yeah!" Luke yelled, walking into another room, me following behind him.
A boy with pale skin and hair the color of grass stood before me, a perplexed look set upon his soft, yet dashing features.
"Who's...this?" The green-haired boy asked, setting down a notebook onto a counter.
"Oh uh, this is Lacey. We're going now, where's the first aid kit?"
"The bathroom cabinet..." He slowly said, staring me up and down with greenish blue eyes.
"Thanks!" Luke exclaimed and waddled out the door.
The cabin was actually pretty large, we passed a few rooms until we finally came to a stop.
I heard the opening and closing of what I assumed to be cabinets, Luke walked out a few seconds later, holding a small red box in his hands.
"That's Michael," Luke said as we walked into the door to another room.
I mentally reminded myself that the crazy-haired boy was Michael.
"Sorry for the mess," he mumbled as we walked inside a room that had clothes scattered across the floor, paper, and a rather big bed in the middle.
The room overall was pretty nice; pictures of him and multiple people were pinned onto the walls, a wooden desk in the corner with a couple notebooks and a cup that held many pencils. The floors were cold, even through my socks I felt the coldness and shivered.
I even saw a backpack...her backpack.
-
I'm already working on the next chapter because damn.
I updated all my stories today whoop!
Okay umm...Ashton, Calum, and Michael will also be in this story; each expressing different things and such.
So they'll be an important part to this story!Excuse any mistakes I made!
And I love you all so so much!
Oh btw electricity doesn't like work outside the walls, the light source used was a lantern type of thing.
And the pictures on Luke's walls were from one of those cameras that instantly develops them.
I think that's all...Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed!
~xoxo~
