LACEY'S POV:

I quickly grabbed my satchel and made my way out the door.

I never paid much attention to how it looked inside the walls until now.

Once you entered the walls you directly stepped into town which was surrounded by a white domed shape object up above. That dome was there to "keep the air clean."

The town was circular, houses lined up inside of a sphere shaped globe, and when you were outside the walls it was as if there were small white boxes sticking out.

(A/N sum up of that^
It's basically like they live inside a globe, you feel? But their backyards do lead to the forest outside)

Everything outside my house was white, absolutely no color. There was no sun, only the light provided by the lights on the sidewalk.

I liked Luke's house because it had a homey feel to it.

Before I knew it I was in the elevator and sighed once I heard the quiet ding, indicating that I made it to my destination; the top floor.

I quickly rushed into my office, praying that James wouldn't see me if he suddenly walked out of his office.

I set my things down on the leather couch I always sat at when in sessions.

Ashton wasn't here yet, he's going to be here soon though.

I decided on getting out the required items I needed for today; a pen and notepad.

I sort of regret taking this job now for some reason.

I go behind my desk to retrieve my needed items when I almost trip over something.

An ear piercing scream escaped my lips as I saw what caused me to almost trip.

James.

He laid there lifelessly, a pool of blood surrounding his head.

"No, no, no," I whispered, backing away slowly.

My mouth runs dry as I see the side of his head covered in crusty, dried up blood.

I soon find myself become nauseous and grabbed the bin besides my desk and let everything inside me spill into the plastic container.

I gag slightly looking back over at him and his unmoving body.

I set the bin back down and stand up.

I have to leave now, if Ashton comes I'll take him with me and tell him to question nothing.

Tears streamed down my face as I soak in what just happened; I...killed someone.

I didn't think I hit him that hard, he must've cracked his head open when his head hit the floor.

Is it considered bad I don't feel the slightest bit guilty?

He has made me live under rules I never wanted to follow and hurt me, both physically and mentally.

I grabbed my bag and began to walk towards the door when it swung open and he walked in.

"A-Ashton we have to l-leave," I stuttered out.

He tilted his head slightly, probably extremely confused.

"Just...follow me I'll explain on the way," I whispered and grabbed his wrist, giving him no time to think about it.

I dragged him out the door and into the elevator, "I found some files," I whispered.

He nodded, eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at me with a confused expression.

I took them out of my bag and showed them to him, his eyes widened slightly and his lips curved into a small smile.

"We're related?" He whispered, voice tainted with an accent.

He talked. Ashton talked.

I nodded eagerly and pulled him into a small hug, parting the embrace as the elevator stopped.

I quickly stuffed the papers back into my bag and walked out with Ashton by my side.

I wipe the smile off my face as we walked out of the buildings doors.

"T-things happened yesterday," I whispered.

"Like what?" He asked, voice still quiet.

"J-James wanted something I didn't want to give him a-and I sort of...hurt him," I replied.

"How bad?" Ashton questioned, voice now lowered as we passed by a guard.

"H-he's kind of...sort of dead," I breathed out.

Ashton's eyes widened and he shot me a glare before slightly shaking his head, "he did deserve it if I'm being completely honest."

"There is blood on my hands Ashton," I said, looking down at my hands. "The guilt is going to eat me up."

"So what are we doing exactly?" He asked, voice slightly cracking.

"We're leaving, and I'm not taking no for an answer."

He nodded, "we're going to stop by my house and gather up food, blankets, and stuff like that along with my clothes. Then we'll stop by your house and pick up some of your stuff, yeah?"

We made it to my house and I quickly gathered up what we would need; blankets, a bottle of pain killers, two flashlights, some packaged food, and two hunting knives.

I then grabbed my backpack and stuffed all the clothes I could fit in there, along with a box of matches, and my sketchbook and colored pencils.

"Here," I said to Ashton, handing him a duffel bag. "Go to your house, grab what you need, go out through you're backyard, and come to the back of my house, I'll be waiting."

He nodded before walking out of my front door.

I sighed, and ran into my room, taking one last look to see if I would need anything.

I smiled sadly as I saw Anna's journal on my bedside table and carefully put it into my backpack.

(A/N if you remember who Anna is ily)

I hope this all goes well.

~

Ashton finally came back after a good fifteen minutes.

"You ready?" He asked, duffel bag in hand.

I smiled as an idea popped into my head, "let me just do one more thing. I'll be back in about five to ten minutes."
