[A/N] So the girl on the side/top is who I picture Katy as.
Yup, Zoella (Zoe Sugg)!
Hope you guys enjoy this chapter!
LUKE'S POV:
"So when is Calum coming back from his 'trip'?" I asked.
"I honestly don't know," Michael replied.
Calum left about a week ago to go on some sort of 'vacation'.
But what was there to see in a decaying world?
"It's getting late and I'm tired, I'm going to go to my room," I said, sitting up from Michael's bed.
He grabbed at my wrist before I had a chance to pull away, "stay! I get cold at night."
"Cuddle with someone else!" I exclaimed.
"There is no one else," Michael remarked.
"But-"
"Please," he begged, pouting his lip.
"Fine, wait."
I lazily walked out of Michael's room and down the stairs, heading towards the unlit living room.
I grabbed my stuffed penguin off of the couch and made my way back upstairs, being as careful as possible.
"You still sleep with that?" Michael scoffed.
"Don't judge me!" I yelled, plopping down onto his bed.
"You're going to be eighteen," he chuckled.
"If you keep on making fun of me I won't cuddle with you," I sighed.
"No, I'm sorry Lukey Pookey," Michael said, hinting a side of sarcasm - which I ignored.
"You're making fun of a seventeen year old that still sleeps with his stuffed penguin, while you're an eighteen year old who doesn't like sleeping alone because he's scared of the dark."
"Fuck you," he breathed out and pulled the covers over him and myself.
Michael and I had this weird friendship where we'd fight during the day but cuddle at night like no tomorrow.
We were weird like that; both desiring cuddles from each other.
I usually left the house while he slept though.
My mind tends to become most inspired at night when the sun is down and the moon is up.
And me being the nice person I am, leaves the house so Michael won't hear me playing the guitar or singing and wake up.
I met Michael when I was fifteen; when I first left home and came here with Katy.
Katy and I were only friends when we came, but it soon became more.
Our relationship was more friendly than intimate.
The most we had ever done was kiss.
But it was enough to make me fall.
I've never really believed in love.
Love doesn't really last forever, does it?
One person always loves the other more, and I feel like I was that person when I was with Katy.
I believe that love is underestimated; thought to exist when it doesn't, and believed to not ponder the air when it truly is there.
That's how it was with Katy and I.
We never knew there was more to us until we experimented with our feelings.
I'm glad she was brought to this earth; because of her I became acquaintances with reality.
I was so blinded by the hurting I was experiencing when I met her, that I no longer remembered what happened out here.
"Are we not going to cuddle?" Michael gasped dramatically.
"Sorry," I muttered and scooted closer to him.
His back was towards me and we molded our bodies together, causing our body warmth to be shared.
"Calum's a better cuddler than you," he said, shifting positions so he was comfortable.
"Whatever," I huffed, closing my tired eyes.
"Goodnight," Michael whispered.
"Goodnight," I replied quietly.
I was getting anxious, due to the fact that my guitar wasn't in my lap.
My fingers itched to hold a guitar pick and strum the stings of the instrument that was packed away in a case.
A light snore escaped Michael and I took that as my cue to leave.
