LUKE'S POV:
By looking out my window, I knew it was pretty chilly outside. So, I pulled on a gray, long sleeved shirt and some vans, leaving my black ripped skinny jeans on.
I tugged on a gray beanie - that had a little fluffy ball at the top - because I was too lazy to do my hair, although I wasn't intending one seeing anyone.
I grabbed my guitar case, my hands grappling onto the handles like it was the only thing that kept me alive.
Leaving the house at midnight was pretty scary, but it's not like there's anyone else out here.
Just me and Michael really.I exited our house, leaving it unlocked because we never found a key when we found the abandoned shelter.
The moon looked weird compared to the stars.
The moon sometimes reminded me of myself, as odd as it sounds. The moon, it's like me and all the other runaways, we are different in the most beautiful ways.
While the followers are the stars; common and nonexistent, like their personalities.
The moon's an outcast, beautiful and bold, while the stars are bland and boring, shining, but not as bright as the crescent moon.
I walked off the creaky porch in front of our house and into the woods.
It was creepy, but the light of the moon led me to wherever the hell I was going.
I usually sat at a tree just outside the walls.
Funny, they didn't want followers leaving, yet they had backyards that led to the woods, smart.
Me being me, gets lost a lot.
So, I marked trees with X's that led me to a specific tree I always sat at and also led me back home.
Seeing the marked trees I knew I was going the right way, so I continued on at a slow pace.
My mind wandered off as I walked deeper and deeper into the woods.
Music.
It was a strange feeling; knowing sounds from one of the simplest objects was what kept me going through the toughest of times.
Not even Michael or Calum were there for me when Katy left.
Calum left to "see the world," with some stranger, while Michael had never experienced heartbreak, so he couldn't exactly help me much.
I wasn't even sure if I would see Calum again, which really did worry me.
He slightly understood love, so he knew what I had lost and could somehow relate with me.
A gust of air rushed by, causing goosebumps to form on my body.
Before I knew it, I was at the tree I always thought negative thoughts at.
But I noticed something.
A girl sat on the bed-like trunk, knees cradled to her chest as quiet sobs escaped her mouth.
