Chapter 34

Ciara's pov

Right now Maddie and I are in my room getting ready for the banquet for our parents work. I'm still a little shocked from the call earlier. I just can't believe that he acutually called. When I was in the bathroom curling my hair Maddie walked in with a small smile on her face.

"Hey, do we need to make a CER essay for Hw?

"Did he call you?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Yes, how did you know?" I say putting the curler down. She looked down at the floor. She only does that when she feels guilty or if she's trying to hide something. " Maddie what are you hiding from me?"

"Nothing!"

"Maddie I know you're lying to me!"

"Okay okay I'll tell you, but after the banquet."

"Fine" I say in defeat knowing that I will not win this time.

Right now we are at the banquet. The place is beautiful. There are many roses in the middle of the tables for center pieces, a big dance floor, chandeliers are lighting the whole place up, and a big welcome banner. I walked to my seat with my family, Maddie, and her family. Once we sit down our mothers' friends come and greet us.

"Hello ladies," greeted Sally.

"Sally, it's so nice to see you! How are you?" My mom asked.

"Oh I'm great how about you?"

"Just great! Oh and I don't think I've introduced you to my daughters," she said gesturing my younger sister and I to go over to them.

"This is my oldest daughter Ciara and her sister Caitlyn"

"Hello girls, you look beautiful tonight," she said with a nice smile.

"Thank you," we both reply.

"Well I'll see you girls later, bye!" She said hugging my mother and walking over to Maddie's mom who was talking to another friend.

I walk back to my seat and talked to Maddie. We talked about anything we could to make time pass by and soon enough it was time to eat. While we were eating some people made some announcements. During one of the announcements my phone vibrated ok the table. I opened it and saw that someone had texted me.

"Ciara put your phone away," my mother whisper-yelled at me. I quickly check who texted before putting away my phone. It wasn't someone from contacts so I'm guessing that they just got the wrong number.

Our parents went to go dance once they were done eating while my sister went to play with some of the younger kids her age, and Maddie's sisters went to talk to the other older teenagers which leaves Maddie and I by ourselves at the table. After a little while we got up and went to the dance floor tired of just sitting down doing nothing. It was really fun seeing the adults dancing to music that us "kids" usually listen to and having dance battles with each other.

Maddie and I then found our selves in a big circle cheering on the people in the middle dancing. Our friend Mack went in and kicked out her own brother doing a bunch of dance moves from one of our old dance routines earlier in the season. Oh did I not mention I was a dancer? No? Well now you know but it's not a big deal, I mean I dance with Addy and Mack 3 days a week and blah blah blah you know the rest.

"GO MACK!!!" Maddie screamed cheering her on.

She danced until the song ended and got a big applause. She's a great dancer and I'm glad that I get to dance with her a lot.

"And the winner is Mack!" Announced the DJ. She got a medal and smiled big while walking back to her table.

We stayed at the banquet for a little longer just talking to some of the other people, eating sweets, and more dancing. When it was time to go we said goodbye to everyone and walked to the car. I texted Addy and told her to come to my house before we head to school 'Cuz I wanted to now how everything went.

Maddie was sleeping over because her parents were going some where and her sisters were sleeping over at their friend's house too. When we got to my house we changed into our pajamas and headed to the basement to watch a movie.

"Maddie can you please explain everything to me now?" I asked.

"Okay but you have to promise that you won't get made at Cam, Yolo, or me," she said.

" I promise," I reply.

Maddie's pov

Right now Ciara and I are in the basement watching a movie but she wants me to explain something that she won't be happy about. A couple years ago we had another good friend, his name was Calvin. One day at school he would talk to everyone but Ciara and she was hurt pretty bad because they were really really close. Ciara never found out why he did that and when he moved it got worse but she found a way to forget about him.

The same guy called Cam about a week ago telling him that he moved back and that he wanted to see Ciara but we weren't sure if she even forgave him. We told him to do a couple stuff before they talk in person and he agreed and so now here I am explaining all of this to her. When I finished she say there frozen.

"Ciara are you okay?" I asked scared she might blow.

"Yeah, uh I'm fine. Lets just continue the movie. Thanks for telling me."

" If you need to talk about this just tell me." She nodded her head and turned to face the tv. She was quiet for the rest of the movie and fell asleep right after it ended. I turned off the tv and laid down on the other couch. I wonder what will happen now, will there be drama like what happened to Addy and Alex or will they just continue to be friends that is if Ciara finds out why he did that.
