Narrator's POV
"Are we back to our crushing stage again?"
Y/N got pulled away from her staring contest with Lisa from the opposite ends in the classroom and turned to look at the green-eyed girl. "Huh?"
Lauren smirked at her best friend. She's been watching them for like a half hour now and the two of them haven't stopped staring at each other. "I thought you gave up on this crush?"
"I did," Y/N said, but her eyes just drifted off to the older brunette again.
Lauren raised her eyebrows at her and gave her a mildly judgy look. "Right, it's not like y'all have been eye-fucking each other since the start of this period or anything."
Hearing that made Y/N look away from Lisa again to punch her best friend, who was sitting beside her, on her shoulder. "Lauren?!"
"What? You are," Lauren said innocently to her own defense.
"Okay fine, I might still be crushing on her," the Y/E/C-eyed girl sighed in defeat. "But it's you and Dinah's fault. You guys have been brainwashing me with the idea that she likes me back and now I can't stop thinking about it."
It's been a week since that awkward ass encounter with Lisa and Lauren. The younger sister, she hasn't seen much around. The older one, on the contrary, she has seen really often. It's not like they're hanging out or talking though, but Y/N just simply sees her everywhere (without it in a creepy way). On her way to school, in the library, in the hallways, during Art class. Just everywhere she can possibly see her.
And every time, they'd just play this game where one would stare at the other and then the first one will just look away. And sometimes when one of them is feeling brave, they'd just hold the gaze they have on each other, such as right now.
"You should really just go for it."
Y/N looked at her best friend like she was crazy. "The last time I tried, she turned me down before I even told her, remember?"
Lauren rolled her eyes and put her hand out to put emphasis. "Exactly. You haven't even told her. Maybe she won't actually turn you down."
The Y/E/C-eyed girl shook her head. "You're way too optimistic over this."
"How about, you do something and try to impress her before you actually confess?" Lauren suggested. "She's only dated people from the school band, so maybe that's her type. Play her a sweet little something and maybe that'll sweep her off her feet."
"That's stupid."
The green-eyed girl's jaw dropped as she placed a hand over her chest dramatically. "You're stupid."

It was 5 PM. The bell just rang, signaling that the last classes ended for the day.
Technically, brown-eyed Lauren already finished her classes today hours ago, so it got nothing to do with her.
She just really wasn't in the mood to have her sisters baby her once she's home, so she decided to stay at the school library to avoid them. Their intentions were good, but it's just too overwhelming and she'd just really prefer things to go back the way they are before everyone found out she's been bullied. But now that even the last period is over, she doesn't really have an excuse to stay any longer at school when she's asked about it anymore.
Sighing to herself, she stuffed her textbooks back in her backpack and slumped her way out of the library.
On her way out of the building though, she suddenly heard some music coming from the auditorium.
