Narrator's POV
After Camila revealed that she and Y/N used to date, she got kidnapped to the kitchen by the sisters, quite literally.
"Tell us more about your relationship with Y/N," Katherine said as a conversation starter. She figured that maybe this will make the Cuban feel more comfortable over talking to them. It's not like they've kidnapped her to some warehouse though, they're still very much in Y/N's house. But she just might hasn't come here voluntarily with them.
Camila gulped and crossed her arms over her chest, feeling really uncomfortable with six pairs of eyes strained on her. "We're best friends. We kinda dated for a while back in high school, but it was nothing too serious. I don't know what else to tell you."
"I thought Y/N said she hasn't dated anybody since Lauren," Amy recalled from their past conversations with the music producer.
"It's not like we were actual girlfriends, we just went on a couple of dates... and stuff."
Dani leaned over to nudge her shoulder. "Do you two still do that 'stuff' together?" she asked, quoting her choice of words.
The answer was no, but Camila could sense that two of the sisters are really expectant for her response, so she just decided to beat around the bush and see if it can confirm any of her assumptions. "That depends on what you mean with stuff," she said with a nonchalant shrug.
"Well, what did you mean when you said stuff then?"
Lauren cleared her throat slightly to cut the on-going banter off as she felt herself growing more nervous. "Can you tell us more about how Y/N was doing after we left high school?" she asked hesitatingly. She's actually pretty scared to know the answer, but she also knew that she'd regret not knowing.
Camila opened her mouth and seemed like she was going to say she can't do that, so Christina quickly interfered before those words can leave her mouth. "Don't forget you used to bully our Lauren, she might've forgiven you, but I didn't say I have too. So you better start talking," she threatened.
The Cuban raised her eyebrows and choked out a very awkward chuckle. "Well, one word to describe her after you guys left will be 'heartbroken'," she started before shifting her eyes to look at Lauren. "I know she's not completely innocent either, but you really broke her too. She didn't talk to anyone for weeks. Whenever I saw her in the hallways, she'd just look like this walking zombie. And then... yeah."
The raven-haired girl furrowed her eyebrows. All these years, she's never thought the way she broke up with her and left her had hurt her too. She was just so consumed with how the Y/E/C-eyed girl had hurt her, but never the other way around. Sometimes, she'd wonder what would've happened if she gave her the chance to explain herself. She never got to find out what she wanted to say, she just pushed the breakup in her face and avoided her after that.
But the last part of Camila's rambling caught her attention the most. "And then what? What happened?"
"She... She became the new target of the cheerleaders," Camila revealed. "They were all still very angry with her, and since she was so sad all the time, that just made it even easier for everyone to push her around."
"What about school? Didn't they do anything about it? They intervened when they were bullying Lauren," Lisa said frantically, feeling herself getting really emotionally attached to this. She remembered how she's once told Y/N that she wouldn't care if the cheerleaders went to bully her, she was being so cold and heartless with her comments back then. She didn't think any of that would actually come true in a matter of a couple of months.
Camila bit her lip as the memory of seeing Y/N getting assaulted and made fun of replayed in her mind. Back then, she was still angry at the Y/E/C-eyed girl for having gotten her suspended, but watching her being treated like that did make her snap. After all, they did use to be very close friends before Y/N reported to the principle about the whole Lauren-incident. It took her some time, but she managed to show Y/N that she's really changed and regrets everything she's done. And they've been tight ever since, which later turned into a short period of dating, but that really didn't last long.
