Chapter 28 - Long time no see, huh

Narrator's POV

"Hey Y/N!" A loud voice came out above the crowd before a Dinah Jane popped out of the sea of people.

They were in the middle of this afterparty that was hosted by the Polynesian, and the whole room was filled with important, famous, award-winning people... and practically whoever else was at the award show because she's literally invited everyone there.

The more the merrier, she said.

Upon seeing her best friend coming to her rescue, Y/N let out a sigh out of relief. Even though she didn't mind these kinda parties, she would definitely like to see at least one familiar face. Okay, sure, she technically knew half of these people, but it's not like they were all the best of friends or something.

The Polynesian pulled her up for a hug. "Congrats on your wins tonight, girl," she said as she pulled away and dragged the Y/E/C-eyed girl further into the crowd. 

"Thanks, and uhm... where are we going?" Y/N asked even though her voice could barely be heard over all the other voices and music. 

They ended up getting some drinks because this 'deserved to be drunk to' said Dinah. 

On the other side of the room, the Cimorelli sisters were standing there with their manager, scanning and analyzing the guests. The six of them were the perfect example of the random people Dinah had invited too.

They were currently working on their third studio album and making a little bit of connection really won't hurt. On the contrary, it would help a whole lot. 

After a few awkward, noticeably forced conversations, their manager's eyes settled on Y/N, who was now standing alone a good 20 feet away from them. 

The manager snapped her fingers in front of the sisters' faces to catch their attention before nodding towards the younger girl. "That's Y/N Y/L/N. Freshly won producer of the year tonight. All the albums and songs she's taken part of so far have all received tons of awards. For someone pretty new to the industry, she sure as hell has a lot of talent to make her name this big so fast. In just six years, she's launched her own record label and had been named world's number one DJ three years in a row now, youngest and first female to ever do so. Also, she was the highest-paid DJ last year, earning around $40 million, pre-taxes, in just the span of 12 months," the manager said, giving the singers a quick summary of Y/N's career so far. 

Their manager was so into her rant about the young producer that she's failed to notice how she's already lost half the sisters' attention after, pretty much, the first second at the mention of Y/N's name.  

Y/N shifted uncomfortably on her feet with the feeling that she's being stared at. Her eyes looked over the crowd, trying to confirm that she's not getting paranoid and that someone's indeed watching her. And after a few moments, those Y/E/C eyes landed on one particular pair of dark brown ones that were staring at her with curiosity with a mix of sadness.

Lisa Cimorelli.

And apparently, she's not only getting gawked at by one person but by four. Christina, Amy, and Dani were staring at her too. All eyes wide in shock.

"You guys should go mingle with her."

That definitely stole back all the sisters' attention from on the said-girl.

"What?!" Christina choked out.

"She's the kind of person that you definitely would wanna be acquainted with in this industry. Besides, if you manage to get her to work with you guys in any type of way, that'll be even better. It's like a free ticket bringing you to the top of the charts, for sure," the manager shrugged before slowly sipping from her champagne.
