Narrator's POV

The doorbell rang, cutting the on-going conversation off.

Y/N got up from the couch and stretched her limbs. "That's probably the food. I'll go get it," she said as she sprinted to the front door to open it.

Well, maybe it's not the food.

The Y/E/C-eyed girl almost slammed the door shut again the moment she laid eyes on the girl on the other side, but of course, the girl prevented her from doing so. She lunged forward and wrapped her arms around the music producer in a tight hug. "Why aren't you answering my texts, Y/N/N? I've missed you so much. Have I done something wrong?"

Y/N gently pushed her away and rubbed her temples. "This really isn't a good time."

The girl looked past her shoulder and saw that there were people sitting on the couch. "Have you really found someone to replace me this soon? I love you, Y/N. Please."

"We really don't know each other that well," she said carefully. The girl looked like she was about to approach her again, so she took another few steps back. "It was just fun for a second, I thought we agreed on that."

"But..."

Out of the corner of her eye, Y/N saw the delivery girl pulling up. She quickly grabbed the girl by her hand and dragged her with her towards the pizza girl.

"Look, we were never a thing. I'm sorry if you were misinformed on that, but it is what it is."

The pizza girl looked at them confused. "Uhm, were you the one who ordered--"

"Yes," Y/N cut her off and handed her a hundred bucks. "And please, bring this girl to the nearest train station or something. One funny business though and I'll fucking track you down... Jenna," she added the last part after learning her name through the name tag on her shirt. "And you, text me when you get home and then delete my number."

"Oh, uh, okay, here's your order."

Putting the boxes of pizza down on the table, the music producer found everyone looking at her with an expectantly, judging expression. If that girl was able to see them sitting on the couch, that means that they also saw everything that's gone down by the door.

"I... thought you weren't dating anyone?" Dani spoke up, addressing the elephant in the room.

Y/N opened one of the boxes and grabbed a slice. "I wasn't dating her."

"She clearly thinks that you guys are though."

The Y/E/C-eyed girl just shrugged before standing up again. "Well, I can't really control what other people think, can I? Anyway, you guys want anything to drink?"

Dinner went by pretty awkward. The Cimorelli sister actually couldn't care less about how the music producer was living her life, but they just felt bad for Lauren. If even they felt kinda sad to see how much the Y/E/C-eyed girl has changed, then they can't imagine what their sister was feeling over this... over that interaction with that girl at the door.

And Lisa, well... she felt pretty shitty over it. That's honestly the best way to describe it. She just felt responsible in a way or another about how the Y/E/C-eyed girl is now. Maybe she was overestimating her effect on Y/N, but is she really though?

Lauren was actually kinda scaring the other sisters. Somewhere during dinner, she suddenly asked for a pen and paper, and she's been writing ever since. She hasn't spoken a single word or even made the slightest sound since. They knew their sister could be a little quiet sometimes, but this level of anti-socialism is really a record even for herself.
