Chapter 43 - Cars + Parking Lots

Narrator's POV

"Alright, get in place, everybody!" the director said as he clapped his hands together.

Today was the first day of them filming their music video for Cars + Parking Lots. Lauren will be the protagonist in the video with occasional scenes of all of the sisters singing in front of an aesthetic background. Despite that Y/N's name was on the song too, she had no intention to be in the video whatsoever.

She gotta say though, that was mainly because she knew that if she was gonna be in the music video, she'd have to spend even more time with the sisters with all the meetings and stuff, and... she can't exactly say she feels comfortable being in the same room as all six of the sisters. After that confrontation in her studio a couple of weeks ago, she's kinda become really scared to be in the same room as Christina, Katherine, Amy, and Dani. It's not even that they're doing much to her though, but the way they're glaring at her was just sending chills down her spine.

Meanwhile, Lauren had avoided her at all costs, but she can't blame her for that. On the contrary, Lisa's been around her a lot. That was definitely something new, but she got used to it pretty quickly. 

And because she's never showed up to the meetings where they discussed how the music video was gonna be like, everything that was going to happen is gonna be a surprise for the music producer. She actually really had no reason to be here, but she's been asked to, apparently. 

"And action!" the director said. "Christina, Lisa, walk into the shot and pretend to be talking about something. Lauren, go look into the distance longingly."

A couple of wide shots and close up were taken. People switched back and forth and in and out of the frame to get their parts done. The protagonists changed their outfits a few times to make it look like it's not all happening on the same day. Their idea for the video only had five location changes, and two of them are just really short scenes, so that can technically be done in a day. And then tomorrow, they're gonna film the lipsyncing scenes and anything else that couldn't be finished today.

After their outfits change, Lauren and the male actor went to film their second scene at the parking lot.

Y/N perked up in her seat and leaned in closer to the director monitor to get a better look at the teddybear in that boy's hand. That stuffed animal looked oddly familiar. "Hold up, wait a second!" she called out loudly, putting everyone on pause.

She made her way over to the car at the guy's side. "Can I have a look at that?" she asked, pointing at the bear in his hands. He slowly nodded his head and handed it over to her. She pulled the stuffed animal closer to her face to study it more closely.

It might've been six years ago, but she stood by that game stand for about half an hour that day. She's pretty sure this was one of the ten teddy bears she's won for Lauren at one of their dates. Her memory may be shit at times, but the fact that she's seen the raven-haired girl still using one of the teddybear keychains, she can almost for sure conclude that she hasn't thrown away any of the bears and that this is indeed one of them.

She held up the stuffed animal in her hand and nodded towards Lauren, who was sitting at shotgun.

"Yeah, that is exactly what you think it is. Now give it back to him so we can start filming," Lauren sighed out as she sunk back in her seat.

From the scenes that are filmed now, she can see a bad turn in events and she doesn't think she would wanna know what's gonna happen to this bear. It isn't too hard to figure out how the plot's gonna go now. They've filmed scenes with Lauren being a couple with that guy, then scenes of her being sad, then a couple of shots of Dani with that same guy. So... it could both be about cheating or a breakup. Either way, things most likely won't end pretty.
