Narrator's POV

Cimorelli's performance of Acid Rain just ended.

All the girls walked off the stage again. Dani and Amy went to wrap their arms around Lauren as Christina and Katherine just looked at her somberly. And Lisa... well, she just tried to hide herself away.

It wasn't like that her sisters didn't want to be there for her too, but she just simply pushes them so far away that she's becoming unreachable when she's sad. This was just always something she's done when she's sad, she'd crawl into her shell and no one would be able to get to her. She's so used to being alone when she's breaking down that she can't imagine someone giving her a shoulder to cry on.

And then she locked eyes with Y/N for a second.

The music producer was just kinda frozen in place while her eyes were strained on one person. And that person was her.

Quickly turning her head away again, she fastened her pace to get back to their dressing room faster. The Y/E/C-eyed girl was the only person to have tried to be there for her even when she was pushing her away, over and over again. And every time the same thoughts will go through her mind... she should be the last person on Earth to care about her yet she's the exact one who cares the most.

"Lisa."

Lisa stopped dead in her tracks at that voice.

She really chose to chase after her.

Her gut was screaming for her to run into her arms right now but her legs just decided to walk away from her faster. She just refused to believe that she's actually chosen her. Maybe this was her going after her to tell her she likes Lauren more and this was just a heads up or something.

Y/N sighed to herself and fastened her pace. She grabbed ahold of Lisa's arm and spun her around before wrapping her arms tightly in a hug. The blue-haired girl didn't go easy on her and tried to push her away, but eventually she just melted in her embrace and almost broke down again. "Why are you here?" she couldn't help but ask. Even if this was a rejection, she still needed to hear it.

"You told I'm only allowed to talk to you again if I've got it figured out, right? I finally have my answer," Y/N mumbled out against the older girl.

Lisa hung her head down and waited for the heartbreak. Maybe she was just somewhat of a pessimistic mind, but she genuinely couldn't see why Y/N would choose her over her little sister. She's been nothing but a horrible person towards her, so there was just no way she's her answer. She continued to wait for the Y/N's answer, but it never came.

"It's Lauren, right?"

Y/N pulled away from the hug and furrowed her eyebrows at her. "It's you, you smartass."

"Oh," Lisa mumbled. It took a second or two before it dawned on her. "Wait, what?"

The Y/E/C-eyed girl went to cup her face in her hands and gently caressed her cheeks. "I've done a lot of thinking these past three months and it's you. Six years ago, before I even had the chance to get to know you, I already knew I was gonna fall for you hard. It took me six years to get to know you, but I was still right. The more time we've spent with each other, the harder I was falling for you. It's like I was learning something new about you every time we hang out and I got to discover all these different sides of you, and it felt just like I keep finding all these new reasons to fall for you every day."

Lisa looked at her with a slight frown, still completely stunned right now. "But... what about all the times I've hurt you?" she asked in a small voice.

"And what about the times I have hurt you?" Y/N asked back. "We've both fucked each other up and did our fair share to sabotage this relationship, but dwelling on it won't change anything. I've forgiven you a long time ago already, maybe it's time for you to forgive yourself too."
