Narrator's POV

"Are you kidding me right now?!" the music teacher yelled into his phone in frustration.

There was a performance planned on the schedule for next week, it was gonna be Lisa singing accompanied by someone playing the piano. And most importantly, the performance was going to be filmed by a TV broadcast that her and her sisters' record label had set up for her.

This was some major business for the teacher and literally the entire school because holy shit, they're gonna be on national TV again. Everything's gotta be perfect. But just now, the piano guy called the teacher up and told him that he couldn't be there anymore because he just messed up his wrist during PE class. And it surely won't be healed by next week for the performance.

He hung up on his student and stuffed his phone back in his pocket. If he can't find someone with some impressive piano skills before next week to fill in the position, he might as well kiss his job goodbye.

Well, it almost seemed like his prayer was answered because right after that, the sound of music was heard coming from the assembly hall.

He practically sprinted over there and burst straight through the doors, scaring the shit out of Y/N.

The Y/E/C-eyed girl quickly scrambled to her feet. "G-good afternoon, Mr. Swane. Was I disturbing you? I'll just go now--"

"No, wait," the teacher quickly said as he stumbled forward. "Were you just the one playing the piano?"

"I guess so?"

"Can you play something for me right now?" It wasn't a question, he was basically demanding it from her. His job is laying on the line for this.

Y/N looked unsure at her teacher but the persistence in his eyes left her no choice but to comply. She carefully set herself behind the piano again and let her hands dance freely over the keys. The famous piece, Moonlight Sonata, coming beautifully out of it.

"C-can you play Someone Like You by Adele?"

The teacher expected her to stop playing the piece and start playing the song he requested instead, but the Y/E/C-eyed girl surprised him by making a crazy ass transition to the popular pop song. It soon turned into a mashup of both of the songs.

(^ a small vid for reference)

After Y/N finished up the piece, she carefully glanced over at her music teacher. She really didn't know what the purpose of this was and she certainly didn't know if her teacher liked it or not. Right now, she doesn't have music class anymore, but when she did have it last year, her teacher was really not impressed by her piano skills and had failed her for her exam.

If she recalls it correctly, he's even told her she was one of the worst students he's ever encountered in all his years of teaching. So this was definitely nerve-wracking.

"Are you free next Friday?" was the first time that came out of his mouth.

Y/N raised her eyebrows at him. "The entire school is free that day because people are coming here to film, right?"

The principal sent the entire school an email earlier this week, addressing this. Every student is free from classes that day, on the condition that they're gonna be present here as the audience while they're filming Lisa's performance. It adds to the sphere, the TV people said.
