Narrator's POV

A couple of weeks has passed by since Lauren's encounter with the cheerleaders.

Despite Y/N's warning towards them, they still continued on with the bullying and it might've even worsened compared to the first time. Technically said, the Y/E/C-eyed girl was just a small potato, so of course the cheerleaders won't take her words seriously. It was quite funny even that she dared to speak up for Lauren, but never mind that.

Today was the third day in a row that Lauren's skipping school. She was too scared to even think about going to class because that'll mean that she could possibly run into the girls again. Those cheerleaders just won't leave her alone, and she just really doesn't know how to deal with them anymore. She's tired of hiding in the school restroom and crying to herself there.

She's managed to convince her parents that she's simply caught a severe cold but she doesn't know how long she can hold onto that lie. Even the thought of someone finding out about it is scaring her. She knows for sure that if she tells someone about it, everything will just get worse if that's even possible.

This morning, she received a text from one of the cheerleaders. She was threatening her to go back to school because they were getting bored. Seeing that Lauren is still hiding under her covers now, she hadn't exactly cared for that threat. But it's not like they've texted her or anything afterward.

Maybe they just forgot about it.

In the meantime, the Y/E/C-eyed girl has had a little chat with her dear friend. That day, it was obvious that Normani saw how her friends were humiliating the younger girl and instead of stepping in, all she did was film the entire thing and laugh at it on the sidelines. But the dark-skinned girl just denied everything and said she just coincidentally happened to be there and wasn't recording anything.

That was clearly a lie, but since nothing's done with the video, she just assumed Normani has deleted it or something.

"Ms. Cimorelli, can you stay after class for a second?" the science teacher asked as all her classmates stood up from their seats and piled out of the classroom. The bell just rang signaling that it's lunch break now.

Lisa grew nervous by that and carefully made her way to her teacher. "Yes, Mr. Watson?"

The older man spun around in his chair till he's facing his student. The serious expression on his face wasn't helping Lisa at all.

"So I just wanted to talk to you about your grades."

The brunette sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. She knew that her grades were kinda going in the wrong direction, but she didn't know it was that noticeable yet. She hummed in response for the teacher to continue.

"By the look on your face, you noticed it too." He took off his glasses and shook his head slightly in disapproval. "Lisa, you've always been a straight A-student. What's happening to you?"

"It's just..." the brunette started but decided that he doesn't care about the reason anyway. "I'm just a little bit distracted lately, that's all. I promise I'll try my best to get everything back up again."

"I just hope you don't keep slacking off," he said with an unmistaken sass in his tone. "You're studying for your future here. Singing might be a hobby of yours, but it shouldn't mess with your school performance. Set your priorities right."

Lisa gave him a curt nod. "Yes, sir. I'll try to find a balance in both."

"I have nothing against your whole Youtube thing, but I just hate to see one of my top students' intelligence get wasted like that."
