Narrator's POV
"Y/L/N, you need to get ready for your set."
Y/N pulled away from her fetal position on the couch and saw her manager looking at her expectantly. There really was no way she was in the right mindset to do a show now. Ever since Lauren and Lisa left her, it felt like her own soul had left her too. She just felt like a walking corpse most of these days but yeah, she can't just cancel all of her shows and appearances now.
She rolled off the couch in the dressing room and tried to make herself a little more presentable again.
Her manager wrapped an arm around her and sighed. "On the bright side, your ex and her sisters are performing here today too, so--"
"What?!" Y/N screamed out, clearly astonished and not believing her own ears.
"Yeah," her manager confirmed. "I actually think they have their set after yours."
The Y/E/C-eyed girl quickly dashed out of the dressing room down to the hall to check the setlist that was hung there. She barely even knew what songs she was performing, let alone knowing who else was here too today. It was just a small festival that her manager had booked her in, and since she was too busy brooding over her breakup and all the confrontations that came with it, she hadn't paid any mind to it at all.
Indeed, there it was. Cimorelli's name, scheduled to get on stage right after her.
It's been a while since they've last seen each other. The album was slowly wrapping up already, all it needed was just some mixing and mastering. And with the breakup happening right at that final stage of the progress, Y/N just decided to phone a good friend and have him round it up for her.
So... counting the days, it's been about two months and three weeks since they've last seen each other. They'll probably need to meet up again when they're gonna release the album, but chances are high that the music producer is gonna find another excuse and ditch that too.
It wasn't that Y/N didn't want to face them, but... yeah. Yup. It actually is exactly just that, she simply didn't have the guts to face them anymore.
"Is that Y/N? Let's go say hi--"
Y/N immediately whipped her head to the sound of that voice and was just in time to catch Amy being kidnapped away by her sisters. Without thinking, she turned on her heels and sprinted in the opposite direction. Fuck.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Her mind was racing like a hundred miles per hour, just repeating the word over and over again. She was not ready to face them yet. She can't even face them. Little did she know that the backstage was designed to be kind of a circle, so with both of them walking in the opposite direction, they still ended up in the exact same place. Suddenly, the Cimorelli sisters were in front of her, staring back at her in wide eyes.
The Y/E/C-colored eyes switched between Lisa and Lauren.
Okay, this is not happening.
The music producer turned around again and stalked out of there without a word. She tried to push back her thoughts but it felt like her mind had some other plans for her.
About three months ago
"Lauren," Y/N tried again as she slammed her fist against the door that was closed on her. She can't believe she got locked outside of her studio. "Lauren Cimorelli!"
Her words from earlier kept ringing in the back of her mind. 'Just go to Lisa,' she's said. She was just telling her how she should stop making these choices for her and here she was, doing it again for the last time. She leaned her forehead against the door and knocked on it a few more times, tears started to fill her eyes the longer she stayed like this.
